At 33, this is the first (maybe only) chance for Finn Russell to play for 🏴 against the Boks in 🇿🇦
It’s quite likely he will retire never having had a single chance to play the ABs in 🇳🇿
The Nations Championship has problems, but let’s not pretend the old system didn’t SUCK
Head Coach Gregor Townsend has named a 36-player squad for the upcoming Nations Championship fixtures against Argentina, South Africa and Fiji, including uncapped Gregor Hiddleston and Seb Stephen🏴

My position that having not completed a 3 test tour since the 90s, Scotland will be the most used to this Tombola style fixture list. Plus playing Fiji away in um Edinburgh might help too. Nothing less than top of the log or it's #ToonyOut

Really encouraging to hear that George Horne is tracking well to be available for Glasgow's semi-final against the Bulls after his injury scare on Friday night. Full story with Nigel Carolan @TimesSportthetimes.com/article/ee1ce5e…
Rumour that the RFU is allowing London Irish to explore joining the URC (would welcome that, personally).
Not sure what the marketing experts say but if they were to brand themselves as ‘London Exiles’ and pitch to both the Irish and S.A. communities, they’d have a tidy fanbase.
In tribute to club legend Scott Hastings, @WATSONIANFC have added his name his familiar number 13 to their playing jerseys for the @Melrose7s this weekend...
A minute’s silence will be observed before Watsonians’ first tie at The Greenyards on Saturday in his memory
The following things can also be true:
1) there needs to be greater transparency about what footage TMOs have access to vs TV directors so we can stop saying the French and the SAs are at it
2) Whitehouse is quite often not very good at his job
Not going to wade too deeply into it - but I think it would be worth clarity from WR / EPCR on:
1) what footage/angles TMOs get in real time;
2) who decides that; and
3) whether that is standard across tournaments.
Genuinely would be helpful to inform the discussion.
Union Bordeaux-Begles will defend their European title in Bilbao after closing out a thriller against Bath. Despite not being former professional players, we sat down to dissect the game, how Bordeaux won it, and what Bath will learn from here...

So which is it?
Did officials have all the angles they needed and not look at them, or not demand them of the producers?
Or did the producers in Bordeaux not produce all the angles expected in a massive semi-final?
I keep hearing contradictory assertions by people I trust.
Premiership proven. Japan tested. Edinburgh bound. 🏰

Tunnock's is pretty much the only brand I can think of that hasn't engaged in enshittifaction. No change to recipe, shrinkflation, rebranding, change in packaging. I hope they're still going when all their competitors are fucked.
