Our story has been updated with some fiery reactions from Dallas officials as well as some new numbers from Plano, which estimate the Stars would build a $1 billion arena and the city would contribute $700 million in funding. ⤵️

Laying off Michael Rosenberg is the journalism equivalent of trading away Luka Doncic. He can (and does) do it all. He can write with depth, perspective, analysis, nuance, humor and everything in between. He’s also remarkably generous with his time and an all-around great guy.
Longtime Sports Illustrated writers Michael Rosenberg and Greg Bishop were involved in a round of layoffs this week, sources told @FOS. Stephanie Apstein also announced she has been let go after nearly 15 years. Story is coming shortly at frontofficesports.com.

Love this cool patio guide from @sblaskovich. Great info, but also some fun and useful bells and whistles, too, including maps, notes on which restaurants are dog and/or kid friendly and much more. Spend some time with this as you make Cinco de Mayo plans. dallasnews.com/project/best-…

I know Cowboys fans are probably a little sick and tired of drafting guys from Michigan. But Jaishawn Barham is a fantastic value at this stage of the draft. Really smart, athletic defender who has shown the flexibility to play at both LB and as a DE. I like this pick a lot.

I absolutely love every decision the Cowboys have made so far tonight. So I think it’s probably time to go see a doctor.

Winning a dramatic OT playoff game at home is fun, and the loud roar from a crowd can be exhilarating. But there may be no better sound in all of sports than making an entire arena go deadly silent with a road OT game-winner.

.@KSherringtonDMN is one of the best and most fair journalists I’ve ever had the privilege of working with. His (very fair) question to Azzi Fudd got tons of national attention today. He addressed the situation in a column tonight that’s well worth a read. dallasnews.com/sports/wings/…

Just my opinion: This is a fair question given the uniqueness of the situation as well as they are two very important players in the league. I also have no issue with Wings PR stepping in here. Management makes a decision how they want to handle this in an open presser and that's what they decided. If Fudd or Bueckers want to address it, they have agency and will do so or not. It's an interesting media dynamic.
A reporter asked Azzi Fudd about her relationship with Paige Bueckers, but the Wings' media team said they won't be commenting on their players' personal lives.

Jordan Spieth struck the ball well enough to shoot in the mid-60s today. A truly disastrous round with the putter.
