A man was choked on the floor of a Charlotte restaurant by Border Patrol agents — and thousands of Americans invented a knife to justify it. My newest oped on on the lies Americans tell themselves to excuse state violence. zeteo.com/p/ice-migrants-vio…

This headline says it all: "A nonprofit keeps 95% of clients out of jail and in court. San Francisco Courts want to kill it." And not just kill it. Steal its entire budget (and then some) & hand it over to armed probation officers instead. Outrageous. sfstandard.com/2026/06/08/no…

San Francisco courts —backed by the Mayor— would rather armed probation officers supervise people who are presumed innocent than a 50-year community organization rooted in care, not cages. More expensive. Worse outcomes. But easier for the system. Compare to current success:

Reality check: it's still an uphill fight. The Mayor has been responsive only to *certain* San Franciscans. June 12 budget hearing. Decision before July 1. Weeks. Not months. The ask: Please send a letter demanding San Francisco follow facts not fear. dontdismantlesf.org/#send-le…

NEWS: This is how 'justice' works in the US: Expediency trumps fairness & freedom. Right now San Francisco courts—backed by the Mayor—would rather armed probation officers supervise people presumed innocent, than a proven 50-year community org rooted in care, not cages.

READ: A short story that's happening right now. Something deeply dangerous in SF. A waste of taxpayer dollars. A decision driven by greed. One that will undermine community health & safety. No one knows about it. Please read & share. There's still time to change how it ends.

For those in back --> Please send another letter. SF Pretrial has drafted all three — Mayor, Board, Court. One click opens all three pre-drafted and ready to send. 60 seconds. Volume is what closes the gap. → dontdismantlesf.org/#send-le…

If you've already sent: send another. If you haven't: now's the moment. Forward this. Re-share. Add your voice. 50 years of SF safety infrastructure should not be dismantled in a backroom decision. Not on our watch.dontdismantlesf.org/#send-le…

Filming and documenting ICE activities and arrests is the most American thing you could do. The pinnacle of First Amendment protected action.
Currently at the hospital. If you were on the ground. Please dm me any footage you have

Local corruption hides in plain sight while the national conversation focuses on federal abuse. Working public systems get killed by people who profit from their replacement. In a budget memo. Without a hearing. Right under everyone's nose. This is one of those moments.

This is disgusting.
Replying to @ScottHech
Here's what's happening: Quietly, hoping no one will notice, SF Mayor Daniel Lurie is dissolving SF Pretrial—a 50-year community-based public safety program—& handing its entire budget to armed probation officers on July 1. No hearing. No vote on the merits. A scandal.

🚨 ICE KICKS PROTESTER INTO MASSIVE MOVING SEMI?! 🚨 Status Coup captured what appears to be an ICE agent kicking a protester back toward a massive semi-truck during clashes outside Delaney Hall. Photos @wallendupraw captured show the protester’s foot caught underneath the truck moments later. Their condition is currently unknown. This happened just after midnight, as Day 6 turned into Day 7 of the Delaney Hall hunger and labor strike, with protesters demanding freedom and accountability for people detained inside.

🚨ALERT: Federal agents have returned to Mt. Pleasant, DC. This video was taken last night. Unclear if this is immigration-related, but spread the word. And if you see something, let me know. @MigrantInsider

Everyone needs to see what’s happening outside the ICE detention center Delaney Hall once media leaves at night. Assaulting non violent protestors. Imagine what they do to detainees.
