We screened nearly 1 million patients/visitors entering our medical center for COVID-19 symptoms or exposures. After the first wave, very few (< 0.1%) failed screening regardless of community COVID-19 incidence @rickmartinello @YaleMed @JAMAInternalMed
Hospital entrance screening of patients and visitors for #COVID19 signs, symptoms, and exposures at 2 campuses of an academic medical center had limited benefit, as <0.1% of nearly 1 million visitors had a failed screening. ja.ma/3VgyWgv

Dr. Anthony Fauci lays out three ways future scientific communicators can build trust: 1) Always go by the data 2) Admit when you don't know something 3) The goal is not to show how smart you are. It's to get people to understand what you're talking about. #FauciAtYale

Excellent read - at a center with no restrictions on testing (how many O&Ps have been ordered by doctors who claim to follow evidence based medicine?) & inappropriate, unrestrained use of broad antibiotics - we have a lot to learn. Suggestions will increase value & improve care.

This is a GREAT piece by @BradSpellberg on how ID must align with market forces to survive. (And as a Chief Medical Officer of a large hospital, he should know.) Required reading for all of #IDTwitter -- cannot recommend highly enough! @IDSAInfo academic.oup.com/ofid/advanc…
