Public outcry reversed the construction of a patio on the Swilken Bridge. So perhaps the same outcry can reverse the killing of The Old Course @TheHomeofGolf singles queue? Not a fan of this decision. Great memories of the three times I queued. standrews.com/articles/old_c…

Still unreal that a few years ago Augusta very quietly opened a tiny wait list for annual Series badges and that I got selected. 2 badges for life at face value. Will pinch myself every year and look forward to sharing the experience with friends!
With just one main road and a population of 2,200, Driggs, Idaho, doesn't seem like a likely candidate to be the next uber-luxe, scene-y western mountain hot spot. That's about to change. on.wsj.com/450NS6r
New addition to my @TheHomeofGolf collection: a strip of 25 untorn tickets to play the Old Course. They are all stamped "25 Jun 1985". Perhaps I will try to redeem one at the starter's hut next summer : ) #oldcourse
New to my @TheHomeofGolf collection: 2 lovely Arthur Weaver prints of Old & Young Tom Morris. Purchased at auction from the private collection of the late Payne Stewart. The Old Tom print was a gift to players at the 1991 Nestle Invitational.
New to my @TheHomeofGolf collection: November 22, 1973 Golf Illustrated magazine showing Guy Hunt playing from the wall near the 17th Road Hole green, at the 1973 Scottish Open.
New to my @TheHomeofGolf collection: a @Ballantines ad circa 1930's depicting the @RandA Clubhouse, and telling the story of a player in the 1924 British Am teeing a ball from a bottle of scotch.
New to my @TheHomeofGolf collection: A postcard dated July 14, 1924 featuring a great photo of the 1st green on the Old Course. The note is from one friend to another about vacationing in the UK and getting to play the Old Course. A thrill that still exists 98 years later!
In our annual 1 club challenge I edged out a 2&1 win over Quin on the Eden Course @TheHomeofGolf. I played 6 iron and he played 7 iron. We both shot respectable 89’s. Now dinner at the Jigger Inn.
