I may be wrong, but I'd say the Bean Goose at Houghton, Cumbria is a Taiga? Maybe there is a Tundra there too? #CumbriaBirds

A week on from #StormAmy 🌬️ data from our tagged Whoopers show both storm assistance & displacement. Some birds made rapid migrations, others battled the elements – some out at sea for 55 hrs! As North Atlantic storms grow more frequent, understanding their impact is vital. 🦢

Nice to be back on some wetland restoration work this week - recreating areas of open water for important amphibian and dragonfly populations, whilst other areas are allowed to continue natural succession #WetlandsAreAmazing 💙

Looking forward to seeing this ⬇️ It features many photos from my Wildlife Trust reserves in south #Cumbria
A new photo exhibition is at Kendal library for the next 3 weeks. Sponsored by @BritishEcolSoc, the exhibit explains the importance of limestone pavements and shows their beauty through photography. Keep an eye out for updates as the exhibition will move to Barrow and Ulverston.

Saw this and thought of you @DotJones50 - think it translates as 'are you as tall as a Crane, even if they're cheating by having long legs and necks' 😅

Heading for home (eventually, flight is delayed!) after a successful #Norway trip. Great to see Musk Ox, an unexpected Pallid Harrier, stunning scenery and trip list ending on 82 bird species 🇳🇴😊

The viewpoint here is definitely worth a visit. Just a 1.5km walk up a gentle slope, accessed via a toll road (c.£3.50) for a chance to see Musk Ox and Reindeer 😎🇳🇴
