Not enough talk about how HUGE this 3 was, too. What a set. Fake Pistol, decoy wide pin/tight curl, run the step-up guy off the real middle pin? Hurley has some filthy shit.

If De’Aaron Fox is worth $57M a year, Jalen Brunson is worth a billion.

Fox is catching a lot of grief & in hindsight obv he’d pull this back out. But try to put yourself in his shoes. You know ~12 secs left. You *think* you have an easy layup. You make it yes you leave NY time, but worst case scenario is OT being up 3. Dribble around? Ok, you get fouled with 8/9 secs left & have 2 massive pressure FT’s to go up 2 or 3. Genuinely I think most coaches would probably prefer a 100% layup in that situation over running a few more secs before FT’s (also you can always get trapped or backtapped & not even get the FT’s). Of course, he underestimated how close OG was & getting blocked there was catastrophic. Try to have some empathy tho for fact that game isn’t played in slomo. You make a million split second decisions like this in a game. Fox made wrong one here. He’ll bounce back. x.com/ShowCaseShabazz/status…

I know BR is just clickbait but this whole “running the clock out” thing is a load of bunk too. He went up w 12-13 secs left & got blocked. At BEST he would’ve maybe been able to get the clock under 10. There was no “run the clock out” option available & this narrative is getting ridiculous.

I’m almost positive KAT deflected this pass. Right? Great decision to put him on the ball

x.com/NBA/status/20649823189… he sure did. Also, maybe why you don’t have a rookie inbound here. Fake a pass to make a pass. Telegraphed it.

It’s not. But honestly might have been if Fox had just defended instead of fouling.
HOW IS THIS NOT A BACKCOURT VIOLATION??
Community note
A backcourt violation requires the ball to go from frontcourt to backcourt after control is established there; for a dribbler, frontcourt status needs both the ball and both feet in the frontcourt. official.nba.com/rule-no-4-defi… official.nba.com/rule-no-10-vio…

Hustle is a skill. OG Anunoby epitomizes that. Unbelievable block on Fox saves the game. The putback was pure MOTOR. Plenty of guys just sulk that they didn’t get the ball & stand still at 3PT line. Pure heart.

Oh stfu
Stephen A. Smith calls out Donald Trump "This president has no business showing up in New York City. I am dead serious. It is selfish. It is narcissistic. It is ridiculous that he is coming to this game."😳 (h/t @NBA__Courtside )

A 6’2 PG might be the closest thing to Dirk in today’s game. Absurd skill.

This is textbook NBA offense these days. Pretty good defense. But constant ball movement. Downhill paint touches. One more. Beautiful. Hard to guard.

Haven’t seen anyone talk about this but the awful, contested long 2 Wemby shot w 34 secs left was entirely to get a 2-for-1. Good example of when analytics go too far.

This is on Castle as much as Wemby IMO. You can’t turn away from the ball there.

Truthfully, this is how just about every player feels about analytics. 99% of them think it’s mostly a bunch of BS. Hugely different from Twitter/Media perception.

Jalen Brunson’s footwork & touch are nearly unrivaled in the league. Unbelievable player.

A literal 5 year old could (and routinely does) put in this level of effort
Wemby's effort level on this closeout is insane
