When Sir Robert Menzies (& colleagues) was setting up the Liberal Party, his vision was for a party that would "stand for a liberal, progressive policy & be opposed to socialism".

75 officials sent to Brazil for COP30 & still we have had bushfires, cyclones & floods this summer. We must double our representation at COP31 in Turkey later this year to have any chance of stopping the weather from doing what the weather does.

The Vic Govt is broken beyond repair. Later this year, Victorian voters need to throw them in the bin.
When I raised this issue in 2023- the Minister for Corrections dismissed my concerns as populist and unprincipled. Turns out this sexual assault had already happened. Disgraceful. Wonder if the Minister for Corrections will apologise? Or maybe Tim Richardson, Minister for Men’s Behaviour Change, will have a word to himself and his government about their bad behaviour…

3D printer bins can't be too far away.
A man has been charged with nearly a dozen firearms offences after 3D-printed guns and ammunition were found at a home in North Melbourne. Two 3D-printed handguns, a gel blaster assault rifle and various firearms parts were among several items seized when detectives executed a search warrant on Melrose Street yesterday A 28-year-old man was arrested at the property. @3AW693

I'm old enough to remember when one's home was a safe haven. In Labor's Victoria, safety is not guaranteed anywhere.
BREAKING: A 17-year-old boy has been stabbed inside his home during an aggravated burglary in Croydon. Armed offenders forced entry to the property around 3.45am , where it's believed the teen was confronted and attacked. He was taken to hospital with injuries described as "non life threatening". A crime scene has been set up while police investigate. @3AW693

Who remembers the song 'Disco Inferno'?
A South Yarra nightclub has been set on fire overnight. Police say the venue on Commercial Road was closed when it was rammed by a vehicle around 1.30am and the entrance set alight. Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze, and nobody was injured. @3AW693

This raises the question, are you safer trapped in a train stopped by faulty overhead powerlines or in your home? The stopped train is looking like the better option.
Two men forced their way into a Narre Warren South home just before 2am armed with a loaded sawn-off shotgun and an edged weapon, stealing a Mercedes SUV.
Police tracked the vehicle through several suburbs.
The men, aged 20 and 23, were arrested. Both will be directly presented to court today and police will seek remand.

Word filtering out from Canberra that all songs making reference to holidays will be banned from airplay. A spokesperson for the Treasurer stated these songs are encouraging Australians to go on holiday & this has led to today's interest rate rise.

In response to an incident involving a chair in Melbourne's CBD, the Vic Govt has announced it will be drafting the toughest chair laws in Australia. A spokesperson said use of chairs will be limited to Govt MPs' offices in Spring St & senior public servants. Stand up Victoria.

Meanwhile, in Melbourne... Dude taken out by friendly fire, got up straight away. The bouncer's reaction makes this video art.

Home invasion at Wantirna South, Melbourne. Car stolen. 4 teens arrested a couple of hours later. The police told the victims "these crimes are usually carried out with machetes". What? So the machete laws & machete bins haven't worked. Who knew?

Airbus Albo has rolled out the "growing up poor in public housing with a single mum" story again. It's bad enough that he keeps running with this lie. What makes it worse is the media lap it up like brainless automatons, with none of them bothering to call out the lie.

So the teen, who was bailed last year so he could travel to Europe with his family, attempted to rob a Subway store following his return to Melbourne. This latest crime occurred 2 weeks after being given probation for a previous crime spree. The Vic Govt is real tough on crime.

I suspect this has nothing to do with the colour of someone's nails.
A nail salon in Essendon North has been firebombed overnight. The salon on Keilor Road was set alight around 3am, forcing the evacuation of around 100 people from a neighbouring apartment building. Police are investigating whether the fire is linked to another attack on the business in July last year, when a ute was reversed into the shopfront, with a threatening message spray-painted on the side. @3AW693 Image: NINE.

"I stole a jeep." "He stole a jeep."
Police have arrested two men who were caught fleeing the scene of a burglary in Dandenong South last night. The men were stealing a Jeep Cherokee after breaking into a car detailing business when the owner was alerted by the CCTV system. The Air Wing spotted the stolen Jeep and followed it to Dandenong North, where the driver was arrested. The passenger was found hiding in a cupboard inside a nearby home. @3AW693

The gospel according to the climate cult. 1 or 2 hot days = climate change mild conditions = weather Also, according to the climate cult, historically Australia did not experience extreme heat. We know this is nonsense, but the climate cult go with it anyway.

It's no surprise the Nats face a leadership spill. Despite some dancing on the non-existent Libs's grave, it's the Nats who face the biggest threat from ON & who have already lost Barnaby Joyce & previously Andrew Gee. Their ongoing survival relies on rejoining the Coalition.

Is the award for denying medical treatment to a pregnant Northern NSW mum carrying twins? Or was it for refusing to let an intellectually disabled toddler return to his parents in Qld? Perhaps it was for preventing an ACT woman from a farewell visit with her dying Dad in Qld.

Australia Day. I reflect on those who came before us. My 4 x G G/Father, who arrived in Tassie in 1838. Relatives who arrived in Melbourne in the late 1850s. They, along with many others, helped build a great country. Sadly, a noisy, angry minority seek to dismantle it.
