A lot of fans have expressed anxiety over the possibility that Sam will fetch $50M AAV on his next dealโฆ. but they shouldnโt.
When you consider it by a percentage of cap space, and then compare it to some past years as examples, you can see what I mean.
(Feel free to adjust these numbers upwards even - because it very well may be MORE than 50!)
$50mil for Sam Darnold hurts a lot less when you know you have the best cap management office in the entire NFL. Schneider will never over extend the budget no matter what so as a fan, if he signs Darnold for $50mil so be it.
