Protecting our kids against abuse & exploitation is an issue all parties can get behind.
I’m seeing some colleagues demanding we take action before the holidays.
Thankfully, I’ve confirmed repeatedly for the past several months that they can expect a Bill before Christmas.

Incredibly disappointed today to see Conservative MPs vote against Bill C-16, which will strengthen the Criminal Code by:
-Making femicide a first-degree murder charge;
-Creating a new offence of coercive control;
-Making it mandatory for social media companies to report child sexual abuse and exploitative materials; and,
-Increasing penalties for child predators and restoring more than 12 mandatory minimum penalties.
Combatting crime, bringing criminals to justice and supporting victims are non partisan issues.
