I have two new poems in Piedmont College's cool COMP
"I should have spent more time just staring at the finches on the line, or should I say listening. I should have listened more to the made up language my daughters babbled so many years ago,

"Really, how many of us have spent the entire weekend in one pair of sweatpants, lounging around the house, putting off chores, or nursing a recent breakup." @SeanLemonhead writes about his experiences at work, a residential facility for traumatic brain injuries. Link in thread.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are expected to run it back next season, bringing back Donovan Mitchell, James Harden, Evan Mobley, Jarrett Allen, and Kenny Atkinson, per @joevardon
“To be lit by Death Fluorescence is to enter a world both familiar and strange even to those who live it, a series of verbal matryoshka opening the language, by one of America’s most inventive and investigative poets." —Sean Thomas Dougherty sundress-publications.square…
"The Cavs are an embarrassment to the NBA. And if I'm Adam Silver, I would think about fining them for the performance and the effort they're displaying on the floor" – Kendrick Perkins
Found this in my notebook: ‘Somedays the writing isn’t the writing it’s getting the laundry done…/ A few daily words will attach themselves to you, and not today but tomorrow, or the next they will fall off you and become sentences.” #SeanThomasDougherty

Our Poem for the week:
'Urals' by Sean Thomas Dougherty
A powerful and lyrical poem exploring war, tradition, family and hope.

Here's "Visitors of Anger," by Bill Furey. Taken from Robert Allen's 1987 anthology of Canadian prose poems, The Lyric Paragraph. I confess to knowing very little about Furey as a poet, apart from the fact that he published one full-length collection in 1984 (Night Letters).
Here are two poems by Anne Hussey (1934-?), taken from her only book of poems, Baddeck and other poems (1978). She's mentioned at least once (favorably) in the Lowell / Bishop correspondence, but there's little else I could find about her.
I have a new essay up at SoFloPoJo:
"Your father needs help, he’s at the end of the driveway.”
It is my mother-in-law calling out. My wife thinks her father has fallen, and my wife and I come running.
