Steven Spielberg impresses and entertains in "Disclosure Day," a continuation of his/our fascination with aliens that goes back to "Close Encounters" and "E.T." Emily Blunt and Josh O'Connor are great as people trying to break a conspiracy of silence.

"The Furious" isn't part of the Vin Diesel car franchise, but a martial-arts movie with Xie Miao and Joe Taslim busting child traffickers who kidnapped Miao's daughter. A variety of implements become weapons in this fast-paced and bloody movie.

The big movie this week is "Masters of the Universe," which takes the '80s TV show (oversized toy commercial, really) about a muscular hero in a fantasy land. It's a stupid, chaotic mess that can't decide on being faux-ironic or faux-sincere.

This week's weirdest movie is "Backrooms," a suspense thriller about a furniture salesman (Chiwetel Ejiofor) who finds an eerie netherworld in his store's basement. Renate Reinsve plays his therapist, in a visually stunning but narratively uneven tale.

"Tuner" tries to juggle several moods — romance, character study, heist thriller — in the story of a young piano tuner (Leo Woodall) with a talent for safecracking. The parts never fit together cohesively. Dustin Hoffman and Havana Rose Liu also star.

"Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu" is one of this summer's blockbusters, and it's a fun, old-school "Star Wars" movie with lots of action and fun adventure. Not watching the TV series isn't an impediment to understanding what's going on.

I started rooting for @Arsenal a few years ago — a gift from my friend, Scott Pierce. He suffered for years, especially those years of coming in second in EPL. But it felt good to suffer together.
Scott's been gone two years, but I imagine he's enjoying today.
