She’s a Princeton- and Harvard-educated attorney, a former First Lady, and a global example of intelligence, grace, and elegance. I’m speaking up because she taught us: *“When they go low, we go high.”* That means calling out disrespect while still choosing dignity. I stand with Michelle Obama. And she represents the best of American values.

The affordable housing crisis didn’t happen overnight, just like people don’t become disaffected overnight. Both are the result of years of missed opportunities, broken trust, and systems that stopped working for everyday people. And because of that, neither can be solved overnight. Not a silver bullet, but a recognition that real solutions require alignment, urgency, and sustained focus. That’s exactly the premise behind my book “Disaffected!” When people feel left out, unheard, or priced out of the communities they love, they don’t just disengage from the housing market, they disengage from the process altogether. And when that happens, we lose the very voices we need to solve these problems. The path forward isn’t about choosing sides; it’s about building bridges. Democrats, Republicans, and Independents all feel the pressure of rising costs. All see the impact on families, workers, and communities. And all have a role to play in fixing it.
