BU Questrom is launching a new PhD Program in Business Economics focused on how markets and firms interact with public policy. Graduates will be ready for research and teaching roles in both business schools and econ departments.

Very excited to share our new working paper with @andrewjkoh 📄 When should policymakers use taxes/subsidies (prices) vs. quotas (quantities) to correct externalities in economies with stochastic spillovers? We revisit an old question posed by Weitzman (1974), but in general equilibrium with many linked markets. It turns out: the answer depends on the correlation structure of shocks.
