Numbers of MPs have been increasing every 5 years and we have never had a care where they failed to find 30m to pay an MP but medical interns increasing, now they can't find 2M for a medical intern. It's not about increasing numbers, it's called priorities. Government is getting bloated, duplicate agencies. You have ministry of ICT and ministry of innovations in with two ministers. Ministry of agriculture and one for fisheries etc etc. All these bloated government agencies have hundreds of employees and all get allowances and salaries but it's the 2m for 1000 medical interns they cannot find.

As a former Guild leader, I was relieved when the events at Nalika line were cancelled! The pressure and expense of hiring top musicians because you want to be a Guild President of @Makerere is uncalled for! If there is a need for artists, let opportunity be given to upcoming artists at the university; this will offer them a platform to nurture their talent and expose them to better opportunities. Rallies need to be taken back to the university and not on the streets outside the University. Makerere surely can find means of managing rallies so that they don’t escalate into violence. Dear Makerereans, as you head to the polls this week, let the best candidate win.

This afternoon, I met the NRM Parliamentary Caucus at State House, Entebbe, and guided them on the FY 2026/2027 budget priorities and the importance of the Protection of Sovereignty Bill, 2025. We agreed to prioritize peace and security, roads, electricity, the railway, scientific innovation, preparations for AFCON 2027, restocking in Teso, Lango and Acholi, and salary enhancement for teachers, TVET staff and security personnel to support Uganda’s socio-economic transformation and safeguard our national interests.
