As #COVID19 remains a threat in our communities, we need to take precautions to keep safe by monitoring for symptoms, finding a testing site near to us if we have symptoms and staying home if we are sick. We want Pennsylvanians to know that if they need a test, one is available.
According to January 3 White House Task Force Report, Pennsylvania surpasses the average national testing rate for #COVID19. According to the report, PA was at yellow level for number of tests performed per 100,000 people for the previous week. Read more: bit.ly/2JUHiL8

We've been preparing for this variant by working closely with the @CDCgov have been sending 10-35 random samples biweekly to CDC since November to study sequencing detect any potential cases for this new COVID-19 variant. There is still much to learn about this new variant.
Today @SecretaryLevine announced the first confirmed case of the #COVID19 variant, SARS-CoV-2 B.1.1.7, in Pennsylvania. The confirmed case is in Dauphin County. This variant is the same one that was first discovered in England in December. Read more: bit.ly/2JRueWU
