It’s official: 5,500 attendees gathered in National Harbor, Maryland, for the 2026 #SelectUSASummit! From May 3-6, we were thrilled to convene over 2,700 international delegates and 1,100 economic developers, representing 100 markets and 55 U.S. states and territories.

Assistant Secretary Chris Pilkerton spoke at the @SelectUSA Investment Summit to highlight the positive impact of foreign direct investment and to advance a new OIS initiative – the Strategic Vendor Program. This program seeks to identify and support critical components of our domestic supply chain to further protect the national security of our country.

Excellent engagement with VOKA Mechelen–Kempen business leaders. We discussed the current economic landscape and explored new avenues for U.S.–Belgium commercial cooperation. Was happy to share info on our "Building Bridges to the USA" initiative (fall 2026) for companies interested in establishing or expanding operations in the United States. The entrepreneurial spirit in Flanders is impressive—together, we're building stronger transatlantic economic partnerships that benefit both our nations. Today in Nashville, TN, Under Secretary William Kimmitt met with @TNECD’s Stuart McWhorter, Deputy Governor and Commissioner for the Department of Economic and Community Development, and Allen Borden, Deputy Commissioner of Business, Community, and Rural Development to discuss TNECD and @ExportGov’s continued collaboration on international business initiatives, including foreign direct investment and the @SelectUSA Investment Summit, visiting trade delegations, trade events, and more.

Great to see the UAE at this year's @SelectUSA Investment Summit in Maryland — 45 delegates, led by H.E. Mohammad Al Hawi.  From plenaries and panels to @USChamber networking and a meeting with Deputy Under Secretary for International Trade Diane Farrell, the delegation explored new opportunities to invest in the U.S. market and support American jobs.

Spent a lot of my time at @SelectUSA in DC this week meeting with Canadian companies working across energy, manufacturing, and critical minerals. From Standard Lithium's $1.25 billion Arkansas project to Mitrex's new Florida solar factory, these investments mean jobs and stronger supply chains. Good conversations about where we will go next.
