I just had it pointed out to me that I made it to the big screen at the end of yesterday’s jags/colts game. I’m in my picture of me taking this photo. I guess i didn’t recognize myself without my floppy hat which flew off as I was sprinting across the field to get this frame.
In return for our dedication, @Gannett wants the power to eliminate our 401(k) plans — not just to take away the company match but to stop offering the plan entirely at will. It’s the wrong message to send to our newsroom and to anyone who would consider working for our paper.
@Gannett says it wants to "save local journalism” but refuses to value local journalism (and journalists) by investing $10,000 more in Jacksonville over a two-year period — eminently doable for a company that will get $2.75 billion in revenue this year.

A type of breaking news: More broken promises from Gannett. A few years ago, @Gannett promised to "lead with inclusion" by committing to meet certain goals by 2025. Among those goals were the promises to expand transparency by providing annual reports on newsroom diversity, (1/9)
Our guild never stops fighting for its journalists. Can @gannett say the same? Out in the community again, we are really seeing support for our letter writing campaign ramp up. Here's where you can help: actionnetwork.org/letters/te…
ALT Florida Times-Union reporter David Bauerlein talks about the importance of local journalism in Jacksonville as a supportive community member scans the guild's QR code to take action.

This Women’s History Month, @gannett proposed a contract that includes the option to fire employees who need more than 12 weeks of family leave — crucial weeks that are often needed to recover from a C-section, care for NICU babies or handle other birth complications.

We are asking for the support of the community we love and serve as we go into yet another bargaining session next month. Journalists at @jaxdotcom need to see a fair contract to continue bringing quality reporting and coverage to you. We need YOUR help.
The frontrunner in Jacksonville's special election for sheriff, T.K. Waters, is registered to vote in Nocatee. But he doesn't actually live there.
Could the DeSantis-endorsed candidate for Jacksonville sheriff have committed voter fraud?

This is a @SelfTUPhoto appreciation post. We knew we wanted to withhold details about this student to keep him safe as he shared a vulnerable story. Watching Bob create shadows and silhouettes in a field on a rainy overcast day was one of my favorite experiences. #photojournalism
Make it right @Gannett. Negotiate pay raises with @TmesUnionGuild so we can stop losing ground. Help the very workers who made it possible for @Gannett stock price to triple the last year. (2/3)
FACT: @Gannett cannot deny that after 3 years without pay raises, @jaxdotcom journalists are getting squeezed financially. We’re paying more for housing, gas, clothes and groceries. Cost of living in the South spiked 5.8% in a year. #fairpaynow#savelocalnews#TUGuildStrong (1/3)
These amazing photos by @SelfTUPhoto left me speechless. It was clear fast that this would be our front page marking the year of the pandemic on the First Coast. Pick up a copy.
I don’t know how they’re handling this vaccine thing, but I hope those who aren’t from the northside going over there to Gateway seeing how half of this city has live and make them wanna do something about it that’s all I got to say on that
For all of you who've ever uttered disparaging remarks about photographers and media, take a second to toast your hypocrisy while you consume hours of historic news coverage brought to you by journalists.
As of last week, @SelfTUPhoto is our only photographer. But what a powerful photojournalist he is. My words can't possibly do what his images do. This is just one from this year. #lovemynewspaper
