It shows how the traditional queer traits of the rogue have evolved and expanded across time, and invites the reader to revisit classical Picaresque Literature from a queer perspective to understand the contemporary queerness of videoludic rogues.

A few days have passed since @DiGRA2023 I presented a small extract from my thesis. The paper was called " The rogue needs a city: Role-Playing Game cities and their literary background", where I talked about the connections between rogues, Literature and cities in RPGs.

I hope you enjoyed the talk! The conference was an amazing experience and I met a lot of new interesting people. Also, it was a nice excuse to meet some old friends, so I only have nice words for the organization. Thank you so much!

Hello, I just made my presentation on @DiGRA_org called "The Rogue and the City: Thieves World and the expanding role of Literature in Tabletop Roleplaying" that tries to explain a part of my thesis the ideas of @T0MM7 on the early industry of TRPGs (70s and 80s)

This caused a whole narrative and ludic revolution in TRPGs that influenced current TRPGs and digital RPGs. Supplements as Thieves' World (based on an anthology of short stories, 1981) of Thieves Guild (1980) with the help of gaming magazines as Dragon were key to this revolution

A must read. I find this personally painful. There is so little real understanding of what wealth and privilege mean for those who don’t have it in the academy. I have it now but didn’t when I had to make my way. Solidarity first gens! washingtonpost.com/business/…

So, yeah, I've just presented in the @QTemporalities congress my paper “The Rogue as a Queer Agent in Video Games: the Picaresque Novel Legacy”. I was really nervous, but I think it went well. The rest of the presentations were amazing!!
