Once when I was bout 8 or 9, my mother made my father go to a Christmas party with here where they do that present-trading game where everyone brings a gift and then they get to trade with someone else and you try to get rid of your bad gift and get the one you want.
My father got socks.
Then they came home and he said "Where's my socks?" and my mother said "I gave them away." My father said "But that was the only thing I enjoyed about going to that stupid party with those people I don't care about" and my mother said "it's only socks you didn't need them."
