As a member of a proud union family, I've seen how unions can uplift workers and help them secure bright futures for their kids. As the @UAW enters into the second month of their strike, I continue to stand with those on picket lines.
I'm excited to see investments being made to bring more affordable housing, small businesses and employment opportunities to Ecorse! This funding will help construct the Monarch — a vibrant new space that will uplift residents and our local economy. puremi.ch/48OTq7d
I'm proud to stand hand-in-hand with 600 legislators in calling on SCOTUS to strike down the 5th Circuit Court's decision to ban mifepristone. bit.ly/3PWePmd
The #MajorityForThePeople is doing the damned thing, y’all. For as long as I’ve been in office (longer actually) Oral Chemo Parity has been attempted. On to the full #mileg Senate next.
Congratulations and thank you, Rep. @SamSteckloff!
Love that the hearing was at the end of #ChildhoodCancerAwarenessMonth & during #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth, it passed out of committee.
(The fact that we have entire awareness months for different types of cancer, should tell everyone how necessary this bill is.) LFG!
Every Michigander deserves access to affordable medications. With a PDAB, we can make this a reality and put an end to the difficult choices many face. Here's what advocates have to say. ⬇️

Pssst! Are the kiddos tucked in? Book bags packed? School laptops charged? If not, now’s a good time to make sure because in Michigan, tomorrow is Fall Count Day & not the day to miss. (Really, none of the days are—unless kiddo is ill—but especially not on Count Day.)
This is a @SamSteckloff appreciation tweet for introducing HB4071, which we heard in Sen. Health Policy ctte today. Affordability & access to oral chemo drugs needs to happen sooner rather than later, for so many reasons for those who need them where oral (over IV) options exist.
And yeah—this bill is personal, even though my little one is (hopefully) done w/chemo. If we can make chemo less burdensome & affordable for the next set of patients, let’s make it so.
A lot of y’all have no idea, for those of us who do, we wish it was knowledge we didn’t have.
ICYMI yesterday, (& I’m not sure how anyone did, tbh), *this* is leadership, from POTUS standing with workers & especially from @UAW President, Shawn Fain speaking truth to power. #1U#SolidarityForever
Hold the line.
When it comes to tackling climate change, Michigan should be a leader. Join the rally on Tues., Sept. 26th (tomorrow) to meet with legislators and advocates, enjoy live music and food, and be a part of the clean energy movement! michiganlcv.org/event/rally-…#MICleanEnergyFuture
Today is the Downriver Relay for Life🫶🏾, which my husband & I walked w/our little survivor warrior on the one-year anniversary of her ringing the bell🔔 for completing radiation. Hopefully, next year we’ll be able to have a team to walk it w/her as a survivor in remission.🎗️💛🔔
We are committed to creating a more sustainable and affordable future for Michigan. 🌱⚡️ Tune in to the Senate Energy and Environment Committee today at 12:30 p.m. as we hear testimony on our Clean Energy Future legislation. ⬇️

This 3rd-gen Union baby stands up & wears red in solidarity on the line with the @UAW workers striking & when in session in Lansing.

Hold the line!
People over profits.
Stand up to corporate greed.
This #MajorityForThePeople stands in solidarity with the working families of the @UAW. Today, we wore red in support of all those who are striking for the things they need to sustain their families — including fair pay, safer working conditions & better benefits. #StandUpUAW#1u
ALT Michigan's Democratic State Senators standing in rows at the beautifully ornate rostrum in the front of the Senate chamber. The Senators are smiling and wearing shirts, button-ups, blazers and ties in the color red to show their solidarity with the UAW members on strike.
