Today is Flag Day, a day to recognize the symbol that has represented our nation through times of challenge, achievement, and service. As we display the American flag, we also reflect on the values and freedoms it represents and the generations who have defended them.

It's that time of year again, Dairy Breakfast Season! The weather was perfect, the food was tasty, and I had a great time at both the Marathon County Dairy Breakfast and the Stratford FFA Alumni Dairy Breakfast this past weekend. Thank you to the organizers, volunteers, and everyone who showed up. And a big thank you to our farmers!

Today marks the anniversary of D-Day, when Allied forces landed in Normandy, France during World War II. We remember the courage, sacrifice, and determination of those who served on June 6, 1944, and honor the generations of Americans who fought to defend freedom around the world.

Dairy remains one of the state's leading industries, contributing billions to Wisconsin's economy and supporting thousands of jobs. Wisconsin is home to more than 5,000 dairy farms and is the nation's leading producer of cheese, making nearly one-quarter of all cheese produced in the United States! As we celebrate Dairy Month, we recognize the farmers, processors, and workers whose commitment helps keep Wisconsin's dairy heritage strong and our agricultural economy growing. Happy June Dairy Month!

As Committee Chair of the Senate Committee on Transportation and Local Government, I remain committed to ensuring Wisconsin’s roads and infrastructure are built to support our communities. A couple weeks ago, I had the opportunity to join local leaders and community stakeholders for a roundtable to discuss the transportation challenges and opportunities facing Central Wisconsin. Thank you to the Transportation Development Association of Wisconsin putting on this event.

On Thursday, I joined @Rep_Jacobson for a tour of @nueske_s in Wittenberg. It is always great to see a business like Nueske's that is so deeply rooted in Wisconsin and I am a big fan of meat! Thank you to Nueske's Applewood Smoked Meats and the Wisconsin Association of Meat Processors for arraigning this tour.

Governor Evers vetoed a bill that would have protected YOUR tax dollars. Who should Wisconsin tax dollars serve?

Today, we honor the courage, sacrifice, and service of Hmong Lao veterans who stood in defense of freedom and whose legacy continues to inspire future generations. We remember and thank them for their service. May we never forget their contributions and the important role they played in our shared history.

My position has never changed. Wisconsin's surplus should go back to the taxpayers. I voted yes on this bill. Unfortunately it failed, but I will keep pushing until that money goes back to the taxpayers where it belongs.

Convicted murderers can now apply for early release in Wisconsin. Governor Evers made that possible. Wisconsin families deserve to be safe.
