This #WearOrange Weekend, I am reminded of the important responsibility, and work ahead, to end gun violence. I stand with survivors, honor the memories of those we have lost, and look toward a brighter future where every child can thrive and realize their dreams.

Displayed in the Capitol rotunda are posters honoring children whose lives were cut short by gun violence. Their lives mattered. Their stories matter. On National Gun Violence Awareness Day, we honor their memories, and continue the important work towards ending gun violence.

From our prairies to our waterways, Wisconsin’s environment deserves our continued investment. Grateful for leaders like @SenHesselbein who continue advocating for conservation efforts that protect the natural beauty and resources that make our state special.
Today I'm reminded of my visit to Westport Prairie with @RepJoers this time last year to learn more about restoration efforts at the historic Empire Prairie. Wisconsin’s natural beauty is worth protecting, and we must continue investing in conservation efforts across our state.

Much needed renovations are underway at the @UWWhitewater. Fitting that during Teacher Appreciation Week, the improvements are being made to College of Education and Professional Studies will expand the capacity to train the next generation of educators!

A strong healthcare system depends on nurses. Legislative Democrats have introduced bills to ensure safe staffing and support their voices in the workplace. This National Nurses Day and Week, we recognize and salute these dedicated professionals and all they do!

There is an epidemic of missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls in Wisconsin and across the United States. These incidents are tragic, as is the fact they are often left uninvestigated and unsolved. Today’s Day of Awareness calls on us to replace silence with action.

The 988 Mental Health crisis hotline saves lives. Unfortunately, unwisely, and unsurprisingly the Trump Administration abruptly stopped funding 988’s LGBTQ youth and adult services. Democrats will keep fighting for these critical services.

Today’s Supreme Court decision is a win for Republicans and Donald Trump. In the words of Common Cause, it “will allow politicians to gerrymander people of color into silence.”
Voters need these protections to ensure a democracy that actually serves their needs, especially marginalized groups who have historically been discriminated against and had their voting rights stripped away - simply because of where they live or the color of their skin.

Too many workers lose their lives on the job. Today, we remember them and fight for the living for safer workplaces, strong Unions, and a return to adequate protections which have been decimated by the Trump Administration.
