Congratulations to the Town of Sweden on the dedication of its new fire station. This modern, safe, and spacious facility will help ensure Sweden’s brave volunteer firefighters are well equipped to continue serving and protecting this rural community. I was proud to secure $1.15 million to make this important project a reality.

For 88 years, the Maine Credit Union League has helped move our state forward. As member-owned, not-for-profit institutions, our state’s credit unions help Mainers meet their financial needs while giving back to their communities, including through the Maine Credit Union League’s Campaign for Ending Hunger. I was glad to join the League’s annual convention today in Portland to thank Maine credit union employees for their service to more than 750,000 individuals, families, and small businesses across our state.

Dave Daigler has been an exceptional president of the Maine Community College System and a tireless advocate for Maine students and educators. I have always appreciated his steady leadership, deep understanding of Maine’s workforce needs, and commitment to expanding educational opportunities across our state. I thank Dave for his years of dedicated service to the State of Maine and wish him all the best in his future retirement. wagmtv.com/2026/06/11/maine-…

With strong, bipartisan support for our INSULIN Act, we are closer than ever to capping the cost of insulin at $35 per month. This is a significant milestone in our fight to lower costs and deliver real relief for patients across the country. Thank you to @SenatorShaheen, @SenatorWarnock, and @SenJohnKennedy for your partnership in this landmark effort.
News: Bipartisan $35 insulin bill now has enough votes to clear a filibuster. Sen. Jim Banks is joining, becoming 13th Republican -- and all 47 Senate Democrats support the bill from Shaheen, Collins, Kennedy, Warnock semafor.com/article/06/10/20…

Thank you to Shad from Windham and other members of the National Federation of Independent Business for meeting with me to discuss the challenges small businesses are facing across our state. As the author of the Paycheck Protection Program, which supported 250,000 jobs in Maine, I know how vital small businesses are to our communities and local economies, and I appreciate NFIB’s work to ensure their voices are heard.

Much gratitude to @SenatorCollins for taking the time to meet with #NFIB members today! We enjoyed the opportunity to speak with you about #smallbusiness issues in Maine. #NFIBFlyIn2026

It was wonderful to speak with fourth graders from Dr. Levesque Elementary School in St. Agatha over Zoom this morning. They asked thoughtful questions about the three branches of government and how a bill becomes law. I especially enjoyed hearing about their civics unit and sharing more about my work to keep Maine potatoes in school lunches. Thank you to Mrs. Conarroe’s class for the great discussion!

June 6, 1944 – D-Day   Today, on the 82nd anniversary of the Normandy Invasion, we remember the heroism and sacrifice of the 160,000 Allied troops who stormed the beaches to gain a foothold in occupied Europe.   Hitler’s Nazis embodied unbridled hatred and depravity. The sheer grit and mental fortitude of the Allied forces resulted in their resounding defeat.   The brave, young men who paid the ultimate price did so to preserve our freedoms.   Their sacrifice was not in vain.

Thank you, @ALZMaine, for your kind words and for your years of partnership in the fight against Alzheimer’s. Your advocacy has helped drive historic increases in research funding and real progress toward better treatments, care, and ultimately a cure.
Congratulations @SenatorCollins on casting your 10,000th vote! Among our favorites are your votes to increase research funding for Alzheimer's, which has risen from just over $500 million in 2013 to $3.9 BILLION today! @ALZIMPACT #ENDALZ

It is always an honor to salute the heroes who have served our nation in uniform and who continue to serve their communities through Veterans of Foreign Wars. I was grateful for the invitation to speak at the VFW Department of Maine’s 105th State Convention today in Newry. From educating young people about American values through the Voice of Democracy and Patriots’ Pen competitions to advocating for improved health care, suicide prevention, treatment and research for traumatic brain injury and PTSD, and ensuring veterans receive the benefits they have earned, the VFW continues to make an extraordinary difference for veterans, their families, and our country.

Today, I cast my 10,000th consecutive roll call vote, extending the unbroken voting streak that I have maintained throughout my entire Senate service. Mainers are known for their work ethic, and they deserve a Senator who works just as hard for them. Growing up in Aroostook County, I learned the value of hard work, perseverance, and honoring your commitments. I am proud to bring those values with me to the Senate every day. Representing the State of Maine is the honor of a lifetime, and I will continue to serve with the diligence and responsibility that Mainers deserve. x.com/cspan/status/206270183…

Congratulations to Colonel Sarah Clapp on taking command of the 101st Air Refueling Wing — the MAINEiacs! Col. Clapp previously served as the wing’s Deputy Commander and has gained extensive experience since graduating from the Air Force Academy and commissioning as an officer in 2006. I have had the honor of meeting with Col. Clapp several times, and I know from those meetings that she is a strong leader and represents the very best our country offers. I am confident she will continue to serve Maine and our nation well in this new role. We also recognize Col. Byron Newell, the outgoing commander, and thank him for his outstanding leadership and dedicated service.

The Maine Coalition Against Sexual Assault has long been at the forefront of efforts to prevent and respond to domestic violence and sexual assault, providing critical services in communities across our state. I appreciated the opportunity to meet today with Carlie Fischer, the Coalition’s Public Policy Director, to discuss federal funding for these essential programs.

In 2024, I secured $90,000 in Congressionally Directed Spending to support the Coalition’s sexual violence expert witness training program. As Chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee, I will continue working to ensure the Coalition has the resources it needs to advance its vital mission and continue serving Maine communities.

Exciting news: @USNavy has accepted delivery of the future USS Patrick Gallagher from Bath Iron Works more than two months ahead of schedule following exceptional sea trials. Maine shipbuilders continue to prove that they are second to none because, as we know, “Bath built is best built.”
🚨📰⚓️ #USNAVY UPDATE: Navy Accepts Accelerated Delivery of Future USS Patrick Gallagher WASHINGTON - The U.S Navy accepted delivery of future USS Patrick Gallagher (DDG 127), the final Flight IIA Arleigh Burke-Class destroyer, from Bath Iron Works, May 28. The delivery, which marks the official transfer of the ship from the shipbuilder to the Navy, was accelerated by more than two months, due to exceptional builder’s sea trials. The trials executed hull, mechanical, electrical and combat systems at sea testing in series, during a single accelerated effort. “Our nation’s leadership, including Secretary Hegseth and Acting Secretary Cao have been very clear—build ships faster,” said William Mahan, Performing the Duties of Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Research, Development and Acquisition. “Thanks to innovative collaboration between the Navy and industry, we’re doing exactly that.”

Today, we welcomed home more than 60 Maine veterans in Bangor as they returned from a trip to Washington, D.C., organized by Honor Flight Maine.   These veterans visited the memorials built in our nation’s capital to pay tribute to their service. It was deeply moving to join their families and friends in showing them the gratitude and respect they have earned, and to remind them that their sacrifices will never be forgotten.

Dental care is an integral part of overall health care, yet too many families in Maine’s rural communities face long wait times and long drives to receive the services they need. In Waldo County, there are more than 5,700 residents for every dentist, more than twice the state average.   Today, I attended the grand opening of Penobscot Community Health Center’s newly renovated Seaport Dental Center in Belfast. This 8-chair dental clinic will serve approximately 7,200 patients each year and provide acute and walk-in dental care services.

I had a productive conversation with Lewiston Chief of Police Carly Conley and her incredible team yesterday about the challenges facing the Lewiston community, including the rise of violent juvenile crime, which is a real tragedy for everyone involved. The men and women of the Lewiston Police Department put their lives on the line every day to keep local residents safe. I’ll continue doing everything I can to support them and the critical work they do.

Today, I joined local first responders to break ground on Auburn’s new public safety building, which will bring the city’s Fire and Police Departments together under one roof. One of the greatest needs in Maine is addressing our many obsolete public safety facilities. That is why I have worked hard to secure nearly $87 million over the past five years for 45 new or renovated stations throughout Maine. I was proud to secure $2.5 million through my role on the Senate Appropriations Committee to help make Auburn’s new facility a reality and ensure that the city's first responders have the safe, spacious, and modern station they deserve.
