Happy International Day of Persons with Disabilities!
To mark this day, we asked our team one question: āWhat does disability inclusion mean to you?ā
Their answers reflect our shared belief that every child and adult deserves respect, opportunity and a world where they belong.

27th JUNE is OFFICIALLY INTERNATIONAL DAY of DEAFBLINDNESS!
At #COSP18 during the side event titled ā27th June ā Day of Deafblindness,ā Sanja Tarczay from World Federation of the Deafblind (WFDB) and various stakeholders expressed strong support for the official recognition of June 27th as the International Day of Deafblindness.
The proposed observance aims to acknowledge deafblindness as a distinct disability group and to encourage Member States to identify and address the unique barriers faced by persons who are deafblind. The event underscored the importance of visibility, inclusion, and policy attention for this often-overlooked community.
It was emphasized that June 27th is not just any dateāit marks the birthday of the late Helen Keller, the renowned author, disability rights advocate, and educator who was herself deafblind. Her life and legacy continue to inspire efforts to advance the rights and recognition of people with deafblindness globally.
Today, the UN General Assembly has officially declared 27th June as the International Day of Deafblindness.
