Donโ€™t argue with people over sixty. Just donโ€™t. Itโ€™s not just an age; itโ€™s a masterclass in survival. They grew up without Google, without DoorDash, without therapy podcasts, and without an "undo" button. If something broke, they grabbed duct tape, WD-40, a hammer, and a look of sheer determination that made even the broken appliance second-guess itself. As kids, they knew exactly what kind of mood their mom was in just by the sound of how hard she slammed the cast-iron skillet onto the stove. They were the original latchkey kids โ€” walking home from middle school with a house key tied around their neck, with strict orders to heat up lunch and not burn the kitchen down. By the time they were ten, they could bike to the corner store, buy a gallon of milk for the neighbor, feed the family dog, and still have time to play freeze tag in the yard until dark. Their knees were a permanent canvas of scrapes, bruises, and rubbing alcohol. Their universal first-aid kit was just a quick wash under the garden hose and a Band-Aid. If a bone wasn't sticking out, you were fine. They drank water straight from that same hose, ate Wonder Bread covered in butter and sugar, shared a single glass bottle of Coke among five friends, and somehow didn't die from a lack of sanitization. This is the generation that knows how to rewind a cassette tape with a No. 2 pencil. They know the suspense of waiting all week for a movie to air on TV, because if you missed it, it was gone. They remember rotary phones, looking up a family in a massive paper phonebook, and the excitement of getting a color television. They survived party lines, typewriter ribbons, early brick cell phones, and flip phones โ€” and today, they might accidentally send you a 7-minute voice memo where the first 6 minutes are just them breathing and asking, "Hello? Can you hear me?" And don't you dare laugh. Because without a GPS, these people could drive halfway across the country using nothing but an old paper map, a cooler full of sandwiches, and the gut feeling that "the exit should be coming up somewhere around here." They are the ultimate masters of household magic. They can stitch, tighten, glue, and fix just about anything. And somewhere in their pantry, they have a "bag of bags" that is literally older than half the gadgets you own. Leave people over sixty alone. They saw the world before the internet, and they navigated the world after it. And through it all, they didn't just get by โ€” they thrived.

This prick @Keir_Starmer is the only PM in living memory who arrogantly thinks WE ARE ALL WRONG and HE IS RIGHT. What an absolute CUNT of a man he truly is, he will CONTROL your social media, he will CONTROL your phone, he will CONTROL your life, LETโ€™S NOT LET THIS FUCKER DO ANY OF THAT.

Bluesky wonโ€™t be included in the under-16s social media ban. Twitter/X will be. This is clearly a political decision, nothing to do with child safety.

Heโ€™s floated Space X. How many consumers are being price gouged buying rockets? I ask again โ€” give me an example of how Musk becoming a trillionaire (only on paper โ€” he doesnโ€™t have a trillion dollars under the bed) affects you.
Replying to @afneil
Are you being facetious? Such levels of wealth distort democracy with access to power. Such concentrations of wealth are bad for the consumer - it eliminates competition by swallowing up competition via M&As, market dominance etc. and donโ€™t get me started on the term โ€œself-madeโ€

The Channel tunnel has been hit by a 200% increase in UK rates, so it is cancelling plans to invest in better freight services. I thought the government wanted us to be closer to the EU and do more trade with them. Once again its self harming tax policies get in the way.

Keir Starmer during the riots (1st August) in Southport: โ€˜A gang of thugs got on trains and buses, went to a community not their ownโ€ฆ and proceeded to throw bricksโ€ฆโ€™ The findings of the inquiry: โ€˜We found NO conclusive or compelling evidence that the 2024 disorder wasโ€ฆcoordinatedโ€ฆMost people who took partโ€ฆlived locallyโ€™ I trust Keir Starmer would have Keir Starmer sanctioned, arrested and jailed for spreading misinformation during a period of public unrest?

Sometimes you can only shake your head in disbelief at how unserious this government is.
Peter Kyle: the plan is great Naga Munchetty: have you seen the plan? Kyle: no Munchetty: So how do you know its great? Peter Kyle: "Because I have faith in a PM.. to fund the plan & design a plan & lead a plan, of course & he is the PM that is fit for the moment we're in"

BREAKING: The Speaker of the House of Commons was furious to hear that the Governmentโ€™s long awaited Defence Review is planned to be snuck out on a Friday when the House isnโ€™t sitting. This can only herald bad news for our nationโ€™s defence. Sir Lindsay Hoyle has long been a powerful advocate for the Armed Forces from the first day he entered Parliament. He said he would be "appalled" to see the plan announced without a statement to the Commons first and makes a direct appeal to No10: "That would be an utter disgrace and an utter kick in the face to members of this House.โ€ It would also be the highest breach of standing orders and an act of cowardice.

.@Keir_Starmer, your statement says you have absolutely no tolerance for abhorrent scenes of violence like this on our streets. With respect, tolerance is not the issue. Nobody tolerates a near beheading on a residential street in Belfast. The question your statement carefully avoids is prevention. And prevention requires honesty about a pattern your government has consistently refused to name. A man in his thirties, a Somali national, pinned a man to the ground on a residential street and stabbed him repeatedly in the face and neck. Members of the public intervened with a hurling stick. A woman required hospital treatment for the stress of witnessing it. This happened in Northern Ireland, a place that has known more than its share of violence, and even there residents said they had never seen anything like it. Your government has presided over record small boat crossings. It has failed to proscribe the IRGC despite repeated promises. It has blocked the grooming gang inquiry for a year before being forced to concede it. It has spent ยฃ10 billion on asylum accommodation contracts. It has actively resisted measures that would have reduced the number of unvetted individuals entering and remaining in this country. The victims of these attacks are not statistics. They are British people, going about their lives on their own streets, who were failed before the attack happened. Failed at the border. Failed by a system that prioritises the rights of those who arrive illegally over the safety of those who were already here. Your thoughts are with the victim. So are ours. The difference is that thoughts are not policy. Thoughts do not secure borders. Thoughts do not remove individuals with no right to be here. Thoughts do not protect the next victim, whose name we do not yet know, on a street we cannot yet identify, from an attack that has not yet happened. How many more before the thoughts become action?

Starmer is utterly deluded. Here he is thrilled that the Unilever site in Warrington which closed with 140 job losses is being replaced by a 260,000 Data Centre โ€ฆ which will employ about 40 people in total, many remotely. Datacentres will NOT solve growing unemployment, they will only help increase it.

Starmer is now โ€œconcernedโ€ about protecting children. The same guy who ignored warnings that Peter Mandelson was friends with a peodophile. Oversaw a framework where convicted peodophiles walked free. Had to be humiliated into doing a national inquiry into rape gangs. A liar.
