Thank you @NPR @WBUR @OnPointRadio, and Meghna Chakrabarti for the thoughtful discussion on #Lymedisease. A lot of progress has been made to understand the disease thanks to pioneers including Dr. Alan Steere who joined the conversation, and more innovation is needed. Listen here: bit.ly/3SsA83E

Many chronic illnesses cannot be confirmed through a single scan, blood test, or biomarker. In my latest op-ed, I discuss how labels like “catastrophizing” and “doctor shopping” can shape care before meaningful evaluation even begins, particularly for patients living with fibromyalgia and other chronic conditions. It's exciting to see how far #CD40L innovation has progressed since I discovered and characterized CD40L more than 35 years ago at @Columbia (bit.ly/4dZJwmt) Congratulations to the investigators whose Phase 3 data for dapirolizumab in treating systemic lupus erythematosus (#SLE) was recently published in @TheLancet. (bit.ly/4ulFhHX) Dapirolizumab is a second-generation anti-CD40L monoclonal antibody developed under a license to my Columbia technology. Seeing this pathway advance from my academic discovery to late-stage clinical development is deeply encouraging for patients. I’m grateful to Dr. Bob Glickman who recruited me to Columbia’s Dept of Medicine in 1988 as an assistant professor and to the @NIH (Physician Scientist, 1985-1990), @theNCI (RO-1 1992-1995) and the @ArthritisFdn (Arthritis Investigator 1992-1994) for their support of my career development and lab. At @TonixPharma, we're advancing TNX-1500, an investigational third-generation anti-CD40L monoclonal antibody for organ transplant rejection and autoimmune diseases. (bit.ly/3Qn9RTK) In collaboration with @MassGenBrigham, we plan to enroll an investigator-initiated study in kidney transplant in the 2nd half of 2026 pending clearance of the IND by the FDA. Complex conditions like fibromyalgia don't always follow a linear path, and responsive care can't be built on that premise. Today in @RealClearHealth, I outline how policy and research can accelerate a shift in better treating invisible conditions and chronic illnesses: bit.ly/4dVPNzG

For many patients with chronic illnesses, symptoms build over time. But healthcare systems often respond best to acute crises. In my new op-ed, I explore why persistent symptoms deserve earlier intervention. Read here: bit.ly/49wnTZE #Fibromyalgia #ChronicIllness #LymeDisease #Healthcare

Patients can experience debilitating symptoms even when scans and lab work appear “normal.” Too many people living with fibromyalgia and other chronic conditions can spend years without answers because their symptoms are difficult to measure. I wrote about why it's time for patients to have a seat at the table for the care they receive. open.substack.com/pub/sethml… #Fibromyalgia #ChronicPain #Tonix

I’m honored to present at the 2nd Richard Slayman Clinical Xenotransplantation Workshop at @nyulangone this Sunday. It’s an important event to discuss innovations, including @TonixPharma’s 3rd-gen, anti-CD40-ligand antibody for the prevention of kidney transplant rejection.

Fibromyalgia patients wait many years for a diagnosis. Not because we lack science, but because care hasn’t caught up. Read more here in my new post: open.substack.com/pub/sethml… #Fibromyalgia #ChronicPain

Interesting perspective in @nytimes: Fibromyalgia took years to be recognized as a serious condition. Now, we may be seeing a similar shift for endometriosis. An important moment in how we understand chronic pain. nytimes.com/2026/03/14/well/…
