The U11 girls hockey team represented the school at the @iapsuksport regionals held at @ipswichschool on Friday. They scored 13 goals and only conceded one making it through to the national finals in November at Millfield School. Well done, we are really proud of you!

As a wonderful and action-packed term comes to an end, we wanted to take the opportunity to wish you all a happy and restful summer break. We will look forward to welcoming pupils back on Wednesday 6th September for the start of an exciting school year.

In The Kent Primary Schools Annual Doubles Championships Finals last week our Year 5 girls tennis pair were runners up in the girls event and our Year 6 boys pairing were the winners of the boys event becoming Kent Primary Schools Champions - a fantastic result by both our teams.

On Tuesday, our Year 7 Art Scholars headed outside to draw and paint under the shade of the trees in our school grounds. They experimented and extended their usual drawing skills and the work they produced was exceptional - they should be very proud of themselves!

Before half term, drum students from Years 3-8 took part in a drum concert which was a fantastic celebration of drumming. Well done to all involved, it was wonderful for the children to perform in front of an audience and showcase what they have learnt.

We had 19 teams from The Prep Community take part in our golf day last week at Knole Park Golf Club, including a team from our sponsors @nfum_sevenoaks and we are grateful for their continued support. ​It was a really fun day and we hope to see many teams back again next year!

The Pre-Prep have been enjoying our renovated Nature Trail and the fantastic improvements our Grounds Staff have implemented based on the children’s ideas. These include a willow workshop, pond viewing platform and pond dipping table, a mud kitchen and a Book Nook!

We took 6 teams to The Bracken Cup and Woodmansee Shield at Somerhill yesterday. Congratulations to our U11 boys who won their category. All our teams performed well, our U13 girls were runners up and collectively our boys teams came 2nd overall.

The theme of Children's Mental Health Week 2023 is ‘Let’s Connect’. We connected creatively and created a whole school art piece with all year groups from Nursery to Year 8, decorating feathers to form a rainbow wings mural, it has been a fantastic way to join together.

Last week’s highlight in the Pre-Prep was our fantastic Pre-Prep Hockey Tournament which was such a fun and engaging morning for the children. All pupils from Reception to Year 2 were divided into teams and played mini matches within their year groups.

Our lunchtime First Aid Club with our paramedic-trained school nurse is proving popular with pupils this term. Each week she is taking them through different first aid emergencies, giving them the knowledge and skills to be able to help when it really matters.

We are so proud that 2 of our pupils have been selected to represent Kent at U13 hockey. They have done hugely well to have been chosen and we would like to congratulate them both and wish them all the best with their upcoming hockey commitments.

Last Thursday, Mr Beharrell took 6 pupils from years 4-6 to Walthamstow Hall to take part in their Strings Day. They joined up with pupils from other schools to form an orchestra of 65 violinists and cellists, thank you @WalthamstowHall for a fantastic day of music.

Nursery celebrated Winnie the Pooh Day this week by searching for the cuddly characters in the Nursery garden. They bounced like an excited Tigger, reassured a shy Piglet, took Winnie the Pooh for a ride in their tractor and smiled at Eeyore to cheer him up!
