I had the pleasure of moderating this incredible session by @Brian_M_Wong demonstrating how outcomes can be transformed for LTC residents with the right team, vision and data. Showed us what is possible when using fundamental QI concepts. #MacQI2022 . See you next year!
Great first #MacQI2022 plenary by Dr. Brian Wong @Brian_M_Wong! Always at the leading edge. Definitely lots to think about with regards to Macro-level QI - policy change, laws, billing/procedures for new ways of doing!

Significant immune response (antibody & T cell) in those who received a 1st dose of AstraZenca's #COVID19 vaccine followed by an mRNA vaccine for dose 2. Data from Germany, recently published in @NatureMedicine 👇 (Many Canadian's took this approach. Solid plan...thanks, NACI.)

A career in medicine is frequently viewed as a barrier to #motherhood. Most studies evaluating #pregnancy and their outcomes in #physicians are based on self-reported surveys, but @mccusimano, @AndreaSimpsonMD and team wanted to know more than surveys could provide. 1/

The data from England is concerning - while there is still lots to learn. Bottom line: aim for as high vaccination coverage as possible and get those second vaccines into arms as quickly as possible - this will protect us from a major wave with B.1.617.2 in Fall.
THREAD latest on B.1.617.2 variant in England: B.1.617.2 (1st discovered in India) is now dominant in England. Here is a thread summarising latest PHE report and Sanger local data. TLDR: it is NOT good news. 1/7

🇨🇦 is now receiving larger scheduled weekly shipments of #COVID19 vaccines, with 2.9 million mRNA vaccines arriving this week. Pfizer increasing weekly shipments from 2 to 2.4 million. Time to expeditiously get 1st & 2nd doses in arms. bit.ly/3uCd8xN by @leeberthiaume

We show what we value with what we reward. If academic institutions value creating a safe work environment for everyone, then they will stop rewarding bullies and harassers with tenure, promotion, retention packages, and endowed chairs. Some things are complicated. This is not.

COVID-19 and schools in the two countries I love, Canada (purple) and Switzerland (yellow). In🇨🇭, my kids would have missed 2 months of in-person class in wave 1 -🇨🇭 kept schools open ever since despite brutal 2nd wave. In ON? >6 months of missed in-person school, and counting...

Being an infectious disease physician, receiving my #COVIDVaccine was a day that I looked forward to during the pandemic. I've said it before, the best shot is the first one offered to you. Please get your vaccine & encourage others to help stop the spread. #ThisIsOurShotCA

We’re in a vaccine rollout in the largest public health emergency in recent history - with no local production. Breathe - it’s not smooth and isn’t going to be, but vaccines are going out by the day, and normalcy is coming
