I find the "T'au are physically weak and have slow time of reaction than other spieces" very inconsistent since the Air caste is know to be among the best pilots in the galaxy and doing impressive maneuvers while Fire Caste are straight up hunters wich senses are very improved.

Friendly races do rarely get some coverage in the lore, but it's usually to show the Imperium or any other hostile force mauling them. The T'au encountered hundreds of friendly and reasonable aliens in their small part of the galaxy during their very young voyage into the galaxy.
