Keep in mind that Pittsburgh did this with one actually established WR in DK. We just got another one in Pittman, and we just drafted Bernard, who has a very high ceiling, in my opinion. Plus, Roman Wilson has the chance to be a lot better with McCarthy calling plays. Add in Pat and Darnell. The addition of Dowdle, Wetjen, Heidenreich, and Nowakowski means this offense can be great with McCarthy calling plays and Rodgers running it back. The league can keep sleeping, but the Steelers are going to make noise in 2026. I need to see them on a field obviously, but I am very excited as of now. 👀

Bears ranking 4th in NFL at 41 lead after Q1 cumulatively for all regular season games surprised me. I think because we recall so many false starts & other execution miscues on offense early in games. Yet what helped deliver that 41 was it being the best quarter defensively for the Bears in Points Against. Looking further at Points per Quarter (Offense & Defense Against) below, some things jump out. POINTS BY QUARTER/GAME Bears Offense 🔸 Q1 5.5 (6th) 🔸 Q2 5.4 (26th) 🔸 Q3 5.0 (11th) 🔸 Q4 9.5 (1st) Bears Defense (Against) 🔹 Q1 3.9 (10th) 🔹 Q2 8.4 (25th) 🔹 Q3 4.6 (19th) 🔹 Q4 7.2 (21st) TIME OF POSSESSION % SHARE Bears Offense 🔸 Q1 52.51% (8th) 🔸 Q2 49.88% (20th) 🔸 Q3 55.20% (5th) 🔸 Q4 49.82% (17th) ➡️ Bears did a good job with initial game planning and execution, but both O & D units struggled in their ability to execute adjustments during the first half. This is evidenced by the double whammy of both units dropping to bottom quartile of NFL on scoring in Q2. ➡️ Good news is the halftime adjustments by both units helped (especially on offense), and the Bears Offense was best in NFL scoring in Q4. ➡️ Ben also leaned heavily into the run game in Q3 to re-secure time of possession and slow opponent ability to score, which also wore down opposing defenses making them more tired by the end of the game which greased the rails from an energy perspective to help enable all of the come from behind wins. ➡️ I predict in Y2 of Ben & DA’s schemes, we will not only see better execution across the board, but I’d surmise that the 2nd quarter fall off is a big area of focus to fix this offseason. I don’t expect the same levels of drop-off in Q2 with players better executing the schemes from muscle memory & adding more advanced plays in Y2 too — which should be more difficult for opponents to predict and adjust to. Players should be able to execute in-half adjustments better, so they aren’t in as big of holes trailing on the scoreboard or ideally build more leads by halftime. ➡️ Ben has talked about this several times — scoring more aggressively early & sustaining that so the offense doesn’t have to rely upon come from behind heroics as much. That’s what made Ben’s DET offenses so potent & lethal, especially in his 2nd & 3rd years as OC. They would build a significant lead in H1 & play time of possession bully ball in H2. They rarely trailed. (Of course credit to Lions tough defense too) It’s great to know this Bears offense has the will AND skill AND resilience AND stamina to play all 60 minutes & pull out so many games at the wire. But that’s not as sustainable or how most deep playoff teams operate most weeks. ➡️ If the Bears defense had been healthier last season, I’d be more concerned with their inability to improve much in the second half. But so many starters were out in so many games, it’s hard to parse out in the results how much of it was poor execution & adjustment vs. how much of it was the drop off in talent from the number of 2nd stringers playing. ➡️ While the results aren’t pretty, one of the strengths of the Bears last season I thought was how prepared the roster depth was all the way to the practice squad. Those players stepped in & up when their number was called in many cases outperforming backup talent expectations. D’Marco Jackson, Brittain Brown & others did a really nice job. Still may not be up to level of starters, but I expected less than we saw. A tribute to the players & coaches ➡️ I also recognize the defensive numbers reflect not only the quality level of missing starters like Jaylon & Kyler for most of season, but also the subpar DL which we are all acutely aware of & continue to be concerned about Will be interesting to track how these numbers change halfway through 2026 season

A team as good as the Bills being woefully unprepared every game it seemed is a direct indictment on the Coach

the Saints trailed by 93 points after the first quarter not just #32 in 2025 but #32 for any team this century no other team trailed by at least 93 points since pre-2000 it's impossible to win games like that must be a primary focus for Kellen Moore in 2026
