Saw someone talking about how no puzzle game has come close to Blue Prince and I wish I understood the hype
Everyone was praising the hell outta that game. Meanwhile, best friend and I spent a good week scratching our heads at why the hell there was RNG in our puzzle game

Hate to admit that I can personally vouch for this
I've been doing a lot of game replays over the past few years and I've had this situation come up repeatedly. I gave Human Revolution a low score for example, but now that I'm smart enough to engage with its narrative, I love it
Most bad takes about any medium come down to people not wanting to read. Like in my experience most of the worst video game takes come from people who did not read the fucking dialogue
