Does anyone know if web check-ins are necessary? Is there any reason why an airline can't just email you a boarding pass (with an auto-selected seat if you haven't already selected one)?

My parents hoist a flag at their home in Mumbai every year. It is the flag my grand parents hoisted in their home at Tiruchy on 15th Aug 1947. Among the few possessions my grandmother carried to Mumbai, her 2 sarees stayed wrapped in this flag till the day she died #IndiaAt75
