Seven people a day are dying in BC from drug overdoses. The so-called “safe supply” policies of the Liberal-NDP coalition are deadly and fuelling the opioid crisis. Addicts need rehab, access to treatment beds and a path to a drug-free life. There is no time to wait, we need a common sense plan that will save lives!

Eight days ago, shots were fired in broad daylight at a home near 170 Street and 32 Avenue in Surrey, and a young worker was struck in the face by a bullet. More than a week has passed, yet the bullet lodged near his nose and jaw still hasn’t been removed. Instead of receiving timely treatment, he was discharged from the hospital and sent on a stressful loop of medical appointments. Along with the psychological trauma, he continues to suffer intense physical pain. Police officers are supposed to enforce the law. We don’t pay them to be politicians or judges. If they want to be politicians, they should quit their jobs and run for office. If they want to be judges, they should go to law school and do whatever is required to qualify for such an appointment.
