The 3*d print slop movement is really starting to make me feel lame about being a 3d print artist ngl
the rampant a*i use, the people justifying art theft to mass print stuff for market stalls that nobody wants thats wasteful, people claiming designs they print are their own

Anyway,
To alleviate my own impact - I donate prototypes to my local neighbourhood house to give to kids, I use them to raise money for charity and when I sold physical items, I only sold my own designs. And if people *do* want prints, I direct them to reputable, ethical sellers.

every store selling the same awful 3d printed dragons or clicker fidgets and having no coherent theme or anything, and outright refusing to learn new skills like blender or basic file editing or machine maintenance because they don't 'have time'
i miss the reprap days sometimes

don't get me started on the amount of times my work gets stolen and sold without my consent lol. i've seen people in facebook groups taking photos of their stalls *with* my items in them with no credit and no license/permission to do so. There are no ethics in 3d slop stalls.

people see it as a plug-and-print easy money maker and refuse to learn anything that'd make them unique. download a print file, use shitty settings, mass print, then toss to landfill when they don't sell.

6 Job interviews this week, 3 for one company, 2 for another and 1 for another. Heading into an office tomorrow.
I have been *smashing* this job hunt out. Feeling so much better. And definitely over caffeinated.
