The Shenzhen University of Advanced Technology (SUAT) holds its 2nd Campus Open Day today. Visitors may attend themed lectures, tour campuses and top-tier labs, and communicate with academic experts. Admission requires a reservation screenshot. You can take the Metro to SUAT Station (Exit A1 for direct access) or drive to its No.1 & No.2 Gates in Guangming District. Founded in 2024, this public university features integrated science, education and industry. Both offline visits and online live streams are available via QR codes.

Huawei officially launched HarmonyOS 7 at the HDC 2026 in Dongguan. This full-scenario intelligent OS has fully evolved toward the Agent architecture, featuring three major upgrades: an Agent-friendly system framework, Harmony Intelligent Agent Framework 2.0 and the built-in AI assistant Xiaoyi. First unveiled in 2019, HarmonyOS has grown into China's second-largest smartphone OS. Devices running HarmonyOS 6 exceeded 66 million, marking rapid growth of its ecosystem. The Honor Intelligent Manufacturing Center has made breakthroughs in smartphone battery technology, communication modules and display technologies, driven by AI. Its production line rolls out a phone every 28.5 seconds with a maximum yield rate of 99.99%. The Luban industrial large model analyzes nearly 500 part feature points at once and performs 125,000 parallel calculations per second, upgrading manufacturing techniques from the millimeter level to the submicron level. The annual Shenzhen lotus festival at Honghu Park in Luohu District opened and runs through July 12, offering a full month of immersive lotus viewing. With more than 30 years of lotus cultivation, Honghu Park is home to the city’s largest urban lotus pond; an expansive 170,000 sqm water garden where over 1 million flowers are expected to bloom at peak season. The park features more than 700 lotus varieties, including rare imports from other countries, remarkable “space lotuses,” and ancient lotuses grown from thousand-year-old seeds. The Shenzhen Natural History Museum in Pingshan is set for trial run on June 30 and officially opening on July 28. It serves as a key hub for science education and eco exhibitions. Boasting 8 themed halls, it showcases the universe, Earth’s history, life evolution, dinosaurs, human origins and local ecosystems. It also houses the renowned Behring wildlife specimen collection. China’s largest single-site megawatt-level vehicle-to-grid fast charging station officially started operation in Shenzhen. It can charge and discharge power for 61 new energy cars at the same time, with a maximum power of 4.21 megawatts. This charging station is also equipped with an autonomous drone base for power line checks. Drones here can fly out automatically to inspect power lines within 5 kilometers. They detect temperature issues and hidden problems, sending back photos and data in just 30 minutes. Source: 读特

This is a Black-crowned Night Heron, a common resident in Shenzhen’s Lianhuashan Park. Identified by its black cap, pale body, red eyes and yellow legs, it rests motionless on posts near water during the day, feeding on fish and frogs at night.
