It’s been a long time coming but our paper showing long term beneficial effects of inhibitors targeting PIK3CA is out today. Awesome effort by Chris Hedges who did most of work and lead by @TMerry_NZ with input from many other NZ researchers. nature.com/articles/s43587-0…

Our paper out now in Mol Cancer Therapeutics describes some novel combinations of old drugs that look promising to treat BRAF mutant colorectal cancer. Great work from Khanh Tran and great to see some media coverage. Now to find funds for clinical trial. rnz.co.nz/national/programme…

Dr Vahid Seyfoddin finally graduating from lab today after several ceremonies delayed by COVID. His thesis studies provided great new insights into the genetic drivers of glioblastoma.

@ShepherdPeterR's team conducted a study in indigenous peoples of the Pacific islands, examining the role of a genetic variant of CREBRF, known to have an impact on #BMI.
They find that the variant results in lower #myostatin levels.
