Institutional-grade risk management belongs in DeFi. For years, we kept our methodology on the TradFi side of the wall. Now we're bringing it on-chain. Shift's waitlist is here, with a new face to go with it. Claim your spot now and share your card! Every spot is someone who decided to know where they stand. shiftdefi.com

Why did exploits accelerate? Yury's answer on the live: "The AI changed the economics of the exploit. It lowers the cost of attack... it shortens the time between the code deployment and the actual exploit." DeFi is open source, so AI reads it first. Full clip below ↓

After Drift and Kelp lost around ~$578M combined, people started taking a closer look at how fundamentally safe DeFi is @Shift_DeFi. Even though both had passed audits, the weak points were across things like bridge validators, signer flows, and network dependencies.

Even though both had passed audits, the weak points were across things like bridge validators, signer flows, and network dependencies. And if I'm being honest, I don't think most people check that stuff before entering a DeFi strategy anyway. Which is partly why @Shift_DeFi caught my attention. They break down every vault strategy by asset, protocol, and network, so you get a clearer view of what you're exposed to and where the weakest link caps the strategy rate, instead of relying on one risk score or chasing the highest APY. Their founder, @AlexeyT16, brings risk frameworks from traditional capital management straight into DeFi vaults. And IMO, this is a good step in the right direction for making better decisions in DeFi. Now, they're opening early access to their vaults through a waitlist, and you can get priority access in two steps. 1. Fill the form here: shiftdefi.com/waitlist-form?… 2. Follow both @Shift_DeFi and @AlexeyT16 to get priority access and great alpha content as well.

Aside from the cool rebrand they did, I think @Shift_DeFi is actually tackling a real problem here. Most users don't really check things like validators, signer flows, or network dependencies before entering a DeFi strategy. So, without you having to be an actual risk analyst, they’re giving you a clearer view of those risk layers by breaking every vault strategy down into asset, protocol, and network. And here's the part that makes it click, the weakest of the three sets the ceiling. A strong protocol on a fragile chain is still a fragile position, and you can’t average a weak layer into a good-looking score. Also, their founder, @AlexeyT16, is bringing traditional capital management experience straight into DeFi vaults, so you know the risk framework is being built on serious capital management experience. Now they’re opening early access to their vaults through a waitlist, and getting priority access is pretty easy: 1. Fill out the form shiftdefi.com/waitlist-form?… 2. Follow @Shift_DeFi and @AlexeyT16 IMO, transparency matters in crypto, and Shift is building the kind of infrastructure that helps you better understand what you’re exposed to before entering a strategy.

How Shift works. Building Block #2: the protocol. A strong asset can still sit on a weak protocol: > Who holds the admin keys? > Can the contract be upgraded? > Can withdrawals be paused? Shift rates all of it before capital moves, because the weakest block sets the ceiling.

Shift breaks down every protocol and rates each one, so you don't have to. We run 3 layers of assessment on protocols before positions get deployed on our vaults. And each flag caps how high their rating can go ↓

3/ Technical red flags Code-level risks: re-entrancy, delegatecall, admin pause functions, slippage, audit history. Reviewed against a checklist built from real exploits. A protocol can fail a check and still get accepted. Our triggers are built to monitor that exact risk.

Rule at @Shift_DeFi: we don't provide liquidity to protocols that a small team holds access to critical functions. The biggest losses in the last cycle came from the people layer. A key, an admin account. Brute force is hard. Social engineering is a single phone call away.

In 2 hours, we go live with @bracket_fi. The new rules, what AI changes for security, and who actually pays when DeFi breaks. 2 PM UTC, right here. Don't miss it.
The infrastructure has never been stronger, yet the trust remains shaky. We're going live with @bracket_fi on June 8, 2 PM UTC, to dig into that and more. @Melothenomad hosts the conversation with Pelli, Bracket co-founder, and Yury, Head of DeFi at Shift. Go beyond the risk.

APY is the number everyone watches. It's also the number that tells you the least. You see 18%. You deposit. But what are you actually in? Behind that single number there's a stack of exposures most people never think to look at until something breaks. ❯ The asset Is it a fully backed stablecoin or does it rely on an algorithmic peg mechanism? What happens to redemptions under stress? Who controls the blacklist? SVB panic hit USDC for a few hours. Terra/UST wiped $40B. Both were "stablecoins." ❯ The protocol How is the contract upgradeable? Who holds the admin keys? Is there a 3-of-5 multisig that can change fee logic or pause withdrawals? How many audits actually covered the oracle dependency not just the contract logic? ❯ The network What happens to your exit during congestion? If the strategy runs cross-chain, which bridge is in the path? What's the validator concentration on that chain? A well-designed protocol on a fragile network inherits that fragility. This is what @Shift_DeFi calls Building Blocks: Asset, Protocol, Network evaluated independently before a single dollar is deployed. Not averaged together. Not buried inside an APY figure. Dissected. Because in DeFi, risk doesn't announce itself. It hides in the layer you didn't check. Waitlist is live → shiftdefi.com/waitlist-form?…

We go live with Bracket this Monday, June 8, 2 PM UTC. > Regulation: GENIUS, CLARITY, and what they unlock > AI: real threat, or the best defense for DeFi? > Accountability: who covers the loss when DeFi breaks Questions on any of those? Leave them below.

Saying for over a year: the next phase of this market would be about boring infrastructure. Real risk infrastructure. The same kind tradfi have for decades, finally landing in a form normal people can actually interact with. @Shift_DeFi opened its waitlist today, and the whole product is built around that gap. They rate every strategy by breaking it into 3 pieces (what asset you hold, what protocol holds it, what chain it sits on), and the weakest piece sets the rating, so a fragile block can't hide behind a strong name on the front. Monitoring runs 24/7, exits are automated. I grabbed my spot. If you've been allocating size on-chain and felt the same gap, the waitlist is at shiftdefi.com. This is the kind of tooling that has to exist before serious capital actually stays on-chain. And now it does.

We at Shift build with AI every day. If it could always find the hack, it could write code with no hack to find. Run the same agent on both sides. Write the code, tell it to break it, and close what it finds. The tool helps the builder as much as the attacker.
PSA: I now consider *all* of DeFi unsafe. Coding agents are superhuman at finding vulnerabilities, and smart contract security is too asymmetric: defenders need to fix every bug while attackers need just one exploit to steal funds.
