I'm curious on everyone's take on using @/everyone in your Discord servers for 'Going Live', 'Community events' etc over having a role that can be opted into for each of those in particular.
Personally, notifications from every server I am part of for every community post is incredibly stressful. I end up turning them off, especially if I am locked into something for a few days and can't be around.
But it does mean that I miss going live posts from friends, especially when they and their mods use @/everyone & @/here for everything. π±
But I have found that having different roles that can be opted into has caused some of my own viewers to miss some posts, usually going live notifications. And they will mention as such in chat when they notice.
Perhaps that's my own fault for not making those roles clear enough? I'm not sure.
But I am certainly someone that doesn't use @/everyone or @/here for anything unless it's an extremely important announcement.
But I would like to know how others feel about this, and have you found any pros or cons for either side? πβ¨
