Today’s ruling to uphold the UK government's proscription of Palestine Action is a travesty of justice. One by one, the very foundations of our democracy are being destroyed — all to oil the wheels of British complicity in genocide. Our government has participated in the mass murder of Palestinians. That is the real crime, and we must bring about justice.

So apparently this IS terrorism…but arming a genocide isn’t??? Do they think we are stupid?

Apartheid South Africa and Nazi Germany needed compliant judges to provide a legal veneer to their darkest crimes. Judge Johnson joins their wretched company. He overturned a jury's conviction of four anti-genocide activists for criminal damage and sentenced them as terrorists instead. As one their barristers pointed out, the four defendants were initially arrested by police on suspicion of involvement in an act of terrorism. But the prosecution decided not to charge them with terrorism offences because it knew no jury would ever convict them based on the evidence. Instead the Crown held two trials: a sham one for the jury, and the real one conducted in secret by the judge. That is not justice. It is a show trial worthy of the worst tyrannical regimes.

Judge Johnson’s rogue manoeuvrings in the rigged trials of the Palestine Action activists have so incensed the legal profession that thousands signed a petition demanding that he take the chance last Monday to recuse himself from the sentencing hearing. He, of course, refused to do so. They call his behaviour during the trial “biased” and “discriminatory conduct” and have referred him to the Judicial Conduct Investigations Office. Here is David Whyte, professor of law at Queen Mary’s University of London, who handed the petition to the JCIO, explaining another reason why so many legal professionals are outraged by Judge Johnson’s actions: He has shown exceptional “cruelty and vindictiveness” in holding the activists in remand for more than three times the normal maximums, even when the prosecution was not asking for them to be remanded, and for refusing them bail between their convictions and sentencing. The Court of Appeal is due to issue a ruling on the government’s appeal against an earlier High Court decision declaring Palestine Action’s proscription unlawful this coming Monday, days after Judge Johnson’s sentencing of the Filton activists. If this is all starting to look like theatre, that it because it is. In dictatorships, these are called show trials. Everyone understands that the outcome is predetermined. Everyone understands that justice is non-existent. The verdict is entirely political. It is a faux-legal rationalisation of what the security state wants. Judge Johnson is the perfect judge to play that part. The courts will do exactly what is expected of them unless they are worried that public revulsion will discredit their decision. The Jewish activist Tony Greenstein, whose opposition to the Gaza genocide will see him on trial in August for "supporting terrorism", is now being hounded – like other prominent Palestine solidarity activists – with a freeze on his bank accounts. This is being directed by the government through the National Crime Agency. Santander are the latest culprits to engage in what Greenstein calls "financial terrorism", after similar bank freezes from Nationwide, HSBC and First Direct. One of the accounts frozen by Santander held money raised to help a Palestinian children's centre in Jenin. As Greenstien notes, Jenin's children "suffer enough at the hands of the terrorist IDF without facing the terrorism of the British state acting via its banking system". Two years of lying about bombing hospitals in Gaza – supposedly to target "Hamas control and command centres" underneath – has really paid off. Now Israel bombs Lebanon's hospitals and doesn't even need to pretend there's a military rationale.

I'm generally against the mass killing of civilians. The fact that it's Jews doing the killing doesn't complicate it for me. Put it this way, I have no reason to come up with reasons to justify it, ignore, it, cover it up, or explain it away.

We need hear nothing more from this man. He is dead to me. He should be dead to all of us.

Corbyn's big mistake was that he turned the other cheek. That strategy fails because the mud-slinging machine continues relentlessly, 24/7 and, unanswered, the mud eventually sticks causing the public to turn away from the target of demonisation. They're actually waging propaganda war on democracy.
