Spring is definitley in the air & our staff in the greenhouse are busy getting the summer bedding ready🌺
We're sowing more of our summer bedding from seed & here we've got lupins, Achillea & Coreopsis Sunkiss.
We're looking forward to seeing them in full bloom in the summer.

Our Countryside Team had another volunteer litter picking event on Fri 31 Mar.
Despite the wet weather, we had a good turnout from our hardy volunteers.
We litter picked the Kingfisher Walk along the Rea Brook Valley Local Nature Reserve.

2/2 Considering the distance we covered, we didn't find too much litter, which is a testament to people using the area on a regular basis and taking their rubbish home.

Over the next few weeks our Countryside Team will be out repairing & ensuring all the fences are stock-proof in the fields where we graze cattle.
The team have around 4,300m of fence to check & repair, 25 kissing gates,

It's a big job, but the biodiversity benefits of the grazing cattle make it worthwhile.

You may recall that our Countryside Team installed twelve bird boxes in Mousecroft Community Woodland last month.
Our team returned to the area today and installed an owl box in a neighbouring field with the owner's permission.
