In April I gave myself a challenge.
I’ve got old injuries, so I’ve always avoided cardio and told myself running just wasn’t for me.
So I kept it stupidly small.
For 30 days, I committed to running twice a week.
15 minutes on the treadmill in my apartment. That’s it.
- I left my pace untracked.
- I wore the trainers I already owned.
- No fancy kit, no fitness watch
Because I already knew the thing most people get wrong:
With any skill or habit, the goal in the beginning is simply to stick around long enough for it to count.
Fast forward 6 weeks:
I now run two 5Ks every week.
No injuries.
Multiple personal bests.
I’ve even caught up to and overtaken my friend, who’s been running for over a year.
Starting a business works exactly the same way.
So does learning to code,
landing a new job,
building with AI, switching careers entirely.
It comes down to small daily wins that quietly compound over one to three months, while everyone else burns out chasing the dramatic version.
Go consistent my friend, and keep showing up
It’s you against you
