A Zimmerman woman was arrested this morning after firing several gunshots at an occupied vehicle in her driveway and then barricading herself inside her residence, according to Sheriff Joel Brott. The vehicle was hit by multiple gunshots while a man was inside the vehicle. He was not injured. The women then retreated into her residence in the 12800 block of 289th Ave. NW in Baldwin Township and refused to exit.
Sherburne County's Emergency Response Unit was assisted by several deputies and officers from Elk River and Big Lake police departments who responded to the residence. The victim called 911 at about 7:30 a.m. to report that the woman was firing a .22 revolver at him. The suspect eventually surrendered without further incident at about 11:10 a.m.
Arrested was Donna M. Becklin, 61, of Zimmerman. She was taken to the hospital for evaluation before being brought to Sherburne County Jail and being booked on charges of second-degree assault.
