For those of you who are on the fence whether to follow me or not, here is a thread I'll pin, that will let you know who am I, what is my content like and introduce you to the last few years of my work, looking at what was there and what to expect in the future. 1/27
This is NOT a map of Westeros. This is the result of the clustering 68000 SOS decks to find some trends.
I tested a new way of doing it that distinguishes between sub-color pair variants for more insights. Check the results in my latest Magic Numbers (link ⏬)
Been a while but I have been all but idle - working on a new way to look at formats that will hopefully be useful in the future. Join me

I am wondering about the calls of bad prize structure in Qualifiers. 12-2 record wins you $1000. This is on par with Spotlight top8 minus the travel costs. Look, I know, it is veeery hard. And BO1 is not optimal and my guess it is only there for people to fire bullets more.

To make it maybe less predatory, I would see changing it to a best of 3 format. It would add the feeling of a paper big tournament and also promote better play - knowing what the opponent is on in games 2 and 3 is a big advantage. Losing a run to one mana screw is a feel-bad.

OK - time to address the Cube pack duplication issue. It is definitely real. You open packs that were opened before way more frequently than it would happen at random - from a simple reason - it would not happen at random. Odds of that is one in 1.3*10^21.

Duplicate packs happen, it looks from the data it is because pack collation doesn't use all possibilities, probably some heritage from regular set collation that is needed there but not in cube. It also shows how content creator can help Arena devs spotting such errors.

Without @LSV content - who knows how many months would it take to figure that one out. SO to @jakeformayor who found it ages ago and I promptly ignored that cause life.
Also CC @MartinJuza cause I was called to investigate the matter in his thread.
