It's just... day and night. Completely overhauled the camera system for #CinematicsSuite for Roblox Studio It's more refined- more deliberate. Serious when you need it, playful when you want it. Added "altitude hold", which feels similar to piloting a commercial drone. In future releases, this can follow the curvature of roads in your experience. It's all about the tools you need to get the quality shot you're looking for as fast as possible and into your game, video editor, VJ software, or whatever you might need it for Follow for more updates! In 2024 @ilyannnna and I made a game based on this exact principle - polished physics and everything It got absolutely buried in downvotes and we didn't know why. We found out the hard way that Android users in particular were having a hard time because the hardware wasn't talking to the Roblox API the same way In practical terms, several axes were switched around. And it was bad - like up being switched around with right. To make the problem worse, the units were scaled way differently. So Android was EXTREMELY sensitive whereas on iPhone is was perfect. The game eventually failed. But the reason why devs don't work on games like this is because the APIs are inconsistent between devices - TLDR roblox.com/games/15637897631…

I’m not a fan of how the university system paywalls knowledge If university was free I would likely enroll part time and finish for the sake of a credential But at this point in time I just don’t find the ROI in taking a mortgage-sized loan just to go back to college

One of the subjects I really wish I stayed in college for is probably Fourier transforms… So much about FFTs is at the forefront of audio processing and it’s the fundamental mathematical backbone for AI models that can convert raw sound into spectral representations that machine learning architectures can interpret So many experiments I want to do in this direction that I may as well self-study the topics

Simulation is going to be huge for more reasons than just gaming... Think about the safeguards we put on AI these days. We tell them to not put humans in danger. We tell them not to cause harm. But if the AI is lead to believe that what their doing is just a simulation and no lives are in danger, it just does it For instance, if I told an LLM it's controlling a loaded gun and instructed it to pull the trigger, it wouldn't do it because it's made aware that what it's doing causes harm and damage, which is against its guidelines But if it's told it it's inside a video game and it needs to kill as many enemies as possible, it would gladly do so To an AI, everything is digital input, so you can easily have the AI think it's just playing a video game when it's actually killing real people - something called ontological subversion. This sort of stuff is frankly haunting to think about...
