FEW MISTAKES TO LET GO ON/BEFORE BIRTHDAYS 😔😊 Since my birthday will be coming up on the 25th of this month, let me quickly make some corrections to commonly made mistakes of our people around here. Yes, I hate seeing nonsense on a special day of mine. 1. I rebuke HBD for a birthday present. Like some people don't even know what it means to be celebrating a birthday. If not, they wouldn't be confident enough to dash out such freaky acronym on someone's special day. It's a known truth that everyone ain't good at making epistles or drawing out articles, but still, I think the norm should be "Happy birthday" and not "HBD". Or does writing out words in full takes so much time? I greatly despise HBD and I will never acknowledge it if it comes my way. Let's be guided, please. 2. "in massive addy" isn't correct and shouldn't be said to me. This is a mistake we've been correcting over the years, yet people seem to be turning deaf ears to the correction made. Come to think of it, is addy a English word? Even if it is, does massive goes with its usages? If no, then there's need to put an end to that rubbish asap. It's a trend someone wake up with, why blindly follow the same whence you haven't checked on its authenticity? Let's start making use of our brain, please. If need be to wish someone in advance, do say, "happy birthday in advance", "happy birthday beforehand", or "in merciful adding" 🙂😉 3. It's stupid not to wish people well on their birthday because they didn't do the same with you. Drawing conclusion without solid evidences is a sin. Even science teaches us that. You never can tell why he/she doesn't wish you well on your birthday. It might be due to one genuine reason or the other time constraint, work, forgetfulness or the accused might not be actively online whence your birthday comes in. So, whenever your expectation is cut short by someone you thought would celebrate you but doesn't, learn to ask them why if need be. If not, learn to let go. And like they do say, expectation hurts. So, expect less from people. 4. Prayers are indeed important for a celebrant, but asking for his/her account number is importanter.
