ED middle grade Dr training. Using one of our older low fidelity manikins here, to portray a pregnant female patient who collapses in a ED waiting area, and has seizures needing scoop to trolley then we continue the pre-eclampsia scenario in the next door sim suite with SimMom.
As using SimMan3G for the anaesthetic training, we had to use our old faithful friend SimMan Essential for the FY2 simulation session...a rare event using both!
Mondays evening homework was to make a platform to simulate a laparoscopic appendectomy, using wood in my garage a few purchased brackets and an old SimMan3G torso skin....also can simulate a laparoscopic cholecystectomy, as drilled many holes.
SORT PETT - Scenario 1. A huge shoutout to Laerdal in supporting this scenario with loaning Emma, which everybody commented is very impressive #Laerdal
Today we hosted our yearly SORT Paediatric Emergency Team Training. Thirty-five attendees, split into four groups undertaking four high fidelity simulation scenarios. Images from Scenario 3.
Today we welcomed Laerdal to showcase two extremely impressive high-fidelity manikins; Emma a realistic full-term newborn simulator and MamaAnne a maternal and birthing simulator. #laerdal
The process was lengthy but congratulations to Stella, the team and our simulation leads, as SimMK was awarded ASPiH accreditation, which assures high-quality simulation standards, commits to good practice, and strives for ongoing excellence.
