❓"How do you defend a belief when you don't have the data to support it?"
@AaronSiriSG discussed his deposition with the "Godmother of vaccines," Dr. Kathryn Edwards
Aaron Siri: "The reason that Dr. Edwards felt, as she called, 'badgered,' is because it wasn't a scientific exchange for her. In my mind, she had a belief. It wasn't about, you know, an intellectual exchange, a logical exchange, a scientific exchange. She believes vaccines don't cause autism. And when you challenge somebody's belief, they can feel badgered because how do you defend a belief? How do you defend something when you don't have the data, you don't have the studies to support it, other than by reacting with indignation, emotion, and so forth? And that's exactly where she went."
