How did I miss that my favorite book series from one of the best scifi authors currently writing is now an Apple TV show? @Writer_Wells001 it's such an amazing adaptation!

I'm so sad to hear the news that @MrKenMitchell has died. He was an amazing person, and an amazing actor. His portrayal of Kol and other Klingons in #StarTrekDiscovery was magnificent, but my favorite by far was the moving performance of "Aurellio" in "There is a tide..."

I'm researching the legal & legislative implications of generative AI, so I've been following the Taylor Swift deepfake fallout with interest. I've read 6 articles this morning & it wasn't until I went to Twitter just now that I realized X.com isn't a porn site.

In further evidence that #startrek is awesome, I did a boxing day treasure hunt and the code for the lock at the end was 1701. I complemented the organizer on also being a star trek fan, and they had no idea what I was talking about...

It's great to see that the people at @OctopusEnergy thought about the process of reading a meter. It's the small things that make a real difference in user experience. #ux #inclusivedesign

Just heard the Home Secretary stand up in Parliament and declare that "the British people support the Rwanda plan". I'm sick of these guys telling me what I support. I do not support the "Rwanda plan". If you don't either, please retweet.

I'm reading Terry Hayes' "Year of the Locust". It's brilliant until 2/3rds through. Others have said this, but my reason is different as I saw the scifi left turn coming. What's killed my suspension of disbelief is optics being used to stealth a sub. Sonar doesn't work like that.

Okay, I take it back. We've just jumped the shark. In the space of 4 pages, we've gone from spy thriller to EM & sound waves mixed up & optical refraction mixed up with gravitational bending of light.

Time travel. Oh boy. A bn tiny prisms hid a sub from sonar & caused time travel because no one's tried bending light at the pressures & temps a sub endures. Ignoring that light tends not to GAF about pressure, fairly certain there's a star or two that'd have some input here.

I wish I could count the number of times we assumed that something we thought is a binary state and it ends up being an enum later on.
