In Lao PDR, over 140 open-source, AI-based sensors have been installed in schools across the country. Truly inspired by my meeting with H.E. Mr. Monexay Laomoaxong, Secretary General of the Lao Youth Union. Together, we share the passion, vision, and commitment to empowering Lao youth to flourish and shape a brighter future for all.

Our team w/Min of Education & Sports was mobilized to assess the damage to schools from flooding in Luang Namtha. With chairs, desks and books destroyed by water, the resilience of teachers and students remain strong as communities work together to rebuild their lives.

Heartbreaking to see the flood damage in Luang Namtha—schools destroyed, children displaced.  Proud of @UNICEF_Lao's tireless efforts in leading recovery, providing clean water & education support. Together, we will rebuild and restore hope #ForEveryChild.

This is what we mean when we say UNICEF is committed to reaching every child in need. Here, colleagues of mine from @UNICEFLaos are traveling over floodwater in wooden dugouts to assess the impact on children of #TyphoonYagi. They found submerged schools, playgrounds and homes.

Vientiane is now badly hit by floods, but amidst the devastation, it’s moving to see the Lao spirit intact – collective action, support, and smiles even in the toughest moments. #FloodResponse
